"Protect the cash flow" is the game and with development by Star Scientific, Pharma may need to bring in the ringers. I can almost hear the battle cry, "Stonewall Stonewalls!" I sometimes wonder how star came up with the creative name. Was it named after Stonewall Jackson, a native son of Virginia (although a part of Virginia that's now in West Virginia) or was it affectionately named after their favorite US Agency? Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks for posting this. I've written to the reporter.

Many people have problems sorting out opinion from fact. The fact that a young person was sent into a store and was able to purchase an e-cigarette does not prove the opinion "They are targeted to young people." How many youngsters are buying them? What percent of the market is represented by non-smokers under age 18? What advertising and sales promotions are aimed at non-smoking teenagers?

Of course, in this case the facts were not even stated correctly:
The kid was not the target.
The store was the target.

Get IT?

(I'm sure you do!)

The antis idea of what constitutes an ad aimed at children differs quite a lot from my idea. Example: In their minds, this ad, run in magazines with an average readership age of 32 - 36, is aimed at hooking kids.

a) Attractive use of color
b) Packaging looks like candy products

Let's conveniently ignore the fact that, as tobacco products, these packages will be shelved along with the cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, etc., which in the vast, vast majority of stores is out of reach of small children. Let's also ignore that other products that could poison kids come in colorful containers that resemble candy.
