So... I have got the wick making down pretty good but now I want to go further which would be coil building.

I will be using a clapton rca and 26g kanthal so what build method should I start with? I've seen pictures and tutorials on many styles of builds.

What would be a good build for a beginner that has a decent success rate of having good results?

depends on your deck

maybe start with replicating the coil you have in there now and see wat resistance you get, it will depend on the thickness of the wire of the coil

contact spaced all valid options, if you have room i would go for spaced first

experiment, watch youtube (mainly contact coils on there) leave the special wires till you feel confortable
there are calculators someone well have a list of links ;p that can tell you wat resistance you will get with homany twists ... but ultimately it dousnt matter that much in the beginning, try to get wat you are using now and experiment from there

what resistance are you shooting for...are you attempting to build a clapton with your 26ga wire or are you just trying to do a build with the wire itself?

I would try a nice 3 strand twisted 26ga 6 wrap with a 3.0 inner diameter. for your first build. should get you to about .4ohms and should vape pleasantly at around 75 watts. Should be a perfect build for your TFv4. Simple build if you have a drill and a set of precision screw drivers. The #1 phillips is approximately 3mm in diameter.

You're probably right. I'll get out the extra wire smok sends in the kit and see if I can replicate it.

Im trying to build something very similar that's on the clapton single that was installed from the kit. I would like to keep it between .5 and .7 ohms but Im not sure if I can because I'm not familiar with the attenuation properties of kanthal and the 26g is the only thing I can get locally.
