There are a bunch. Good Starter Setups for a Beginner Vaper

Sorry to say, but your current setup is quite archaic and primitive. Stuff we had to use 10 years ago. An anology would be cooking on a campfire as opposed to cooking on a gas stove. The real simple setups work for some folks, but if they don't you don't have options to improve your vape.

Technology has improved immensely since then. You need a mod setup that is variable wattage, a tank that has adjustable air flow and coil options with more than just one coil resistance (ohms). Having the ability to change your wattage settings and adjust airflow settings is a game changer.

You'll be surprised to find that beingable to adjust the air flow or changing the heat of the coil higher or lower can make a huge difference in your vaping experience.

Yeah, I mean I've stuck to this because it's simple. I've never been interested in modding because I'm not looking for a "toy." I just want a simple replacement for a cigarette.

As I said before, sometimes the simpliest setup can/will work, but if it doesn't there is no way to make adjustments to allow it to work. You've got what is essentually a mechanical mod now (fixed voltage), and the only way to make "adjustments" on a mechanical is to change the coil resistance you are using. You're not able to change the resistance on you current setup (1.6 and 1.8 ohm coils are nearly the same resistance). If you had variable wattage/voltage on your battery device, you could make adjustments in power to whatever coils you are using.

A variable wattage battery device is not a "toy". Its just a more sophisticated battery device that gives you options which makes it more useful to vape with. Another anology would be a simple light switch compared to a light switch with a dimmer control which feeds more or less power to the light bulb's coil.

So basically the kit is crap and I should just go elsewhere?
Hmm.
Not all kits are well designed. Aspire are usually reliable enough.
Are we talking the old K3...no... The new one should be fine.

ecigwizard is not great (if that's your shop) and wizmix is very basic Juice. You may as well buy the £1 stuff.

I don't know if it's the old or new model. And yeah, ecigwizard is my local shop. but I'll try elsewhere next time.

Oh. In that case.. have a look at Justfog minifit. It's a very good pod system that has a lot going for it. 18mg in that, just about enough vapor, job done. The only downside is the needle bottle filling. Coils (pods) last 2 weeks.

Exactly. I have a feeling that maybe we're missing something here. This Aspire K3 is very similar to the Innokin Endura T18, same fixed 5.5V output, but T18 comes with 1.5Ω dual-coil atomizers, which of course cuts the working wattage in half (to about 10 watts). You still can't make any adjustments, but 10 watts is perfectly fine. I can't imagine vaping any of the BVC single coils, Nautilus or regular, beyond 14 watts. It just makes no sense--at least on paper.

If you like your setup (tube mod and preset voltage output), you may like the Endura T18, described in my post above, or the newer Endura T18 II (they added some wattage control: 10.5W [cool], 12W [medium] and 13.5W [warm]). If your vape shop carries those, check them out.

Welcome and glad you joined.
I would go with the Eleaf Istick 30 where the wattage can be adjust from 5 watts in .1 watt increments up to 30 watts maximum. These mods last me an minimum or 3 years and are cost effective. Your current K3 tank and coils should work nicely.
Wattage:
I find that the wattage that works for me is usually a few watts over the lowest watt setting (where i can barely see the vape cloud on the exhale). Lower watt settings lessen the chance of burning the liquid/wick and generates my perceived best flavor.
After I get my Atty (coil and chamber heat up) going for awhile, I will often times turn the power down or up a few tenths of a watt or so to see if I can taste more flavor. I'm often surprised at how much better tasting the vape can be by adjusting the vape temp/wattage.

Hello Cheska,
as folks have stated. What you have is a mech mod, so unfortunately there's not much you can do with them unless you buy a rebuildable atomiser and then get all geeky and start building your own coils and doing an awful lot of complex maths.

From personal experience with vape mods I can recommend Vaporesso, especially the ones that do TCR (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance). It's a more advanced way of controlling your vaping experience by controlling the coil temperature.

At the moment I'm using a Luxe kit with Skrr tank with GT CCell coils, mod in TCR mode with TCR set at 88 and temp at 250°C. And I've been using the coil over 6 weeks with liquids about the 70 vg / 30 pg range and it's just getting about time to change it.
