hey guys. so I've been rebuilding for almost two months now and i just ran into a problem that i have never experienced before. i made some twisted 26 gauge micro coils. after i installed them in my RDA and dry burned them to tighten up the coils i noticed that they heat up really slowly. takes about 5 seconds before they are red hot. i thought it wasn't an issue so i went ahead and wicked them with some organic cotton and saturated the deck with juice. now when i go to take a hit it still takes several seconds before the coils heat up and really start putting out vapor and by the time i start to get a lung fill my mod is so hot i have to put it down. now i know this sounds like i have a short somewhere but i can't imagine where or how to fix this. it read at .25 ohms on my reader and i got a solid reading, no jumping around. the screws are tightened down all the way and I'm using a freshly charged sony VTC5. any ideas whats wrong with this build?i have never experienced this even with 22 gauge.

Lower gauge of wire heats up slower than the higher gauge and twisted wire also heats up slower than regular single wire. In this case you use thicker 26 gauge and then twist it so yeah it'll heat up slower so if you want to use twist wire use higher gauge like 32 or 30 gauge but if you want to use lower gauge wire use a regular one

thanks guys. it makes sense. i always wondered why people who normally use thick wire like 20 or 22 gauge use higher gauge like 30 when they twist it. thanks for the tips guys. now the other problem. i have a tobeco TOBH clone and every single build i do one coil heats up quicker then the other. i tinker with it squeezing and pinching the coils and adjusting one or both and i can get them to heat up evenly for one or two pulses and then the other coil begins heating faster. not much, maybe a second or less but it just annoys the crap out of me. i guess it could just be the fact that i use clones. I'm planning on getting an authentic tugboat so maybe that will take away some of my frustrations
