New cotton generally tastes like cotton.

Are they your builds or factory replacement coils? Factory doesn't seem to keep the cotton flavor long. You could try different brands of cotton if they're your builds (but I haven't really noticed much difference between my bag of cotton balls and using whatever came with my RTAs).

They are factory replacements. I have the smok alien 220 watts. And yesterday i changed the coils because the other one was burned. Im using a baby dragon i think is called. I know after you put new coils your supposed to let it rest for 10 to 15 minuets with the juice. And it still tastes like cotton. I hope it goes away like you said. Thanks Myk
Just going by this above statement i'll assume you don't prime your coils which is as important as "breaking them in".
To prime them simply put a couple drops in each of the holes you see cotton in, then let sit in a full tank for 15-20 mins and then you break it in by starting much below what you usually use and slowly go up until a sweet spot is found.
New smok coils have that new coil taste. It goes away after a tankful or two. But as a side note, in my rta, ive been using cotton bacon prime. Wicks really nicely, soaks up juice like a sponge. But...it has a new cotton taste too until i run a tankful or two.
Yes i did prime the coils. But now it’s been i’ve smoked 5ml of juice and the cotton flavor is slowly going away. Y’all been a lot of help. Thanks
Heres a twist, im halfway thru a smok coilhead rebuild. One coil in and looks ok so far. Using dual 24ga core with 32ga wrapped fused clapton wire for coils. This prob wont work though if i cant screw it into the base. Ill report back in a bit on my progress.
Aaand for the record....24ga fused clapton wire wont work for rebuilding a smok coilhead. Prob gonna need plain 26ga kanthal which i dont have at the moment. But, i firmly believe it can be done....i just thought if i could use clapton coils in this it would be like frankenstein. Frankencoils lol. Frankensmok....even funnier. I crack myself up, should have been a comedian.
