The Hantaviruses are also just a part of the largest family of viruses which also includes Ebola. Our medical establishment is hardly infallible, and they tend not to boardcast bad news for a whole lot of reasons. My wife got servely ill five years ago and the hospital said they did not know what it was, but then the health department contacted her and said the wanted to know where she the camphobacter food poisoning.

Fever, chills, weakness, severe headache, swollen tonge, throat and stomach, kidney swelling, liver swelling, kidney and liver enzymes off of the charts, brain swelling, water build up in my tissues, terrible pain and malaise, disorentation, loss of balance, normal white cell count, and it took three weeks to recover, to be able to eat a normal sized meal, and for food to taste good again.
The Doc's were puzzled, but they said that in their opinion it was a very virolent virus who's symptoms presented themselves like the Asian form of Hantavirus and they wanted to know if I had visited Asia recently which I had not.
