well, its seems the last 2 weeks over here - the winter has finaly hit its "harsh point" - and everyone is getting ignorant.

to save you from the long read, here is a broke down point of what i have encountered recently...

-customers i shovel snow for, tried to gype me and another "worker" out of paying us for shoveling them out of chest deep drifts - they didnt want to pay me, but wanted me to finish "my job"....

- the Postman hasnt delivered mail all week on my street, monday i shoveled off our walkways and i found a note on the mail box - "unable to deliver mail due to: (check one) unclear walkways" ---- you cant walk to my door to deliver my mail... but you can walk to the door to deliver a note... - waiting on 3 different orders... ALL out for delivery, but nothing has ben delivered all week... walkways are clear....

- garbage day is tuesday morning here... took out the trash monday night. all day tuesday, no one came to pick up trash. figured they are a day late due to snow, all day wednesday AND today (thursday) no one came to pick it up. now both bins are completely full and over filling because no one came to pick it up... if raccoons get to it, im not cleaning it up.

more ignorance to follow, just posting the 3 that REALLY stood out and makes me wonder...

anyone else notice any irritability/ignorance out of people, with the cold weather afoot?

I hear you and have been noticing it around me as well.. I'm definitely getting fed up with this winter myself, it's been a rough one. I think a lot of people are starting to get stressed out and fed up with it.
This week has been HORRIBLE; I reached my breaking point a couple times.. I can't wait in 2 short months I'll be on tha beach in sunny Florida

That really sucks about your mailman!! And trash guys.. I would call your local P.O. and complain about your mailman - sounds like he's being too lazy to really do his job, he might have other complaints already.. That's some B.S.

Hope things turn around for us both

Maybe it's because I'm way North, or maybe it's the rural culture here, but I've noticed the reverse. An anonymous neighbor has been plowing our driveway in the wee hours of the morning, and last time hand shoveled our sidewalk and steps. We don't have street mail delivery in town here, but when we couldn't make it up to the PO for a couple of days the postmaster dropped our mail off on her way home.

I'm guessing you dont have waste management for trash ( I work for them, in rochester, ny) we work unless its a "state of emergency" which makes unnecessary travel illegal so we cant be on the roads, smaller local companies and the city guys have had some days off though. We've had some decent snow fall (got about 2-2.5 feet in my back yard),nothing crazy like buffalo did a couple months ago or like Boston did. The mailman thing makes no sense, on the bright side..... no mail means no bills, good luck hopefully people in your area step up their game a bit, could be an aggrevating winter..
