So, Since I'm still waiting for my first e-cig to arrive in the mail, I've had some thoughts cross my mind. I live in Northwestern Ontario Canada. Humid climate in the summer, as cold as you can imagine in the winter. We have been known to reach -40 on cold days, -25 to -35 on an average winter day (Celsius, sorry don't know Fahrenheit for the benefit of the Americans reading, let's just say... COLD).

So, I've been wondering about a couple of things. Since these rely on a heated coil, will I notice reduced performance during the winter, outdoors in the cold? I spend a fair amount of time outdoors (work related) during the winter and want to know what I need to do, to be able to vape when I need. Do I need to keep it in my coat, close to my body warmth when not in use?

Also, since Pneumonia is cause by liquid in the lungs, am I at danger if vaping outdoors during the winter? From my understanding the vapor you exhale is predominately water vapor, will this exacerbate the danger?

My next question has to do with relative humidity levels in indoor environments. I'm curious to know if vaping indoors increases the RH of the environment. During the winter, it's pretty much unavoidable that if you have high RH, you have ice forming on the windows. Do you think that vaping adds a significant increase in the amount of moisture in the air in indoor environments?

These are my current thoughts/concerns. I know a lot of you on here are from southern states in America, but I'm hoping a couple ppl from colder climates can chime in. Thanks!

What I found is that when my PV gets really cold it will take a couple of seconds longer to heat up for that first drag. If you take your next drag inside of a few minutes, the coil will not be frozen yet and it doesn't matter. I keep my PV in an outer coat pocked in the winter. Coldest I've ever experienced was about -15 C.

AFAIK, pneumonia is no more likely for vapers than non-vapers in any climate. I believe that since PG is antibacterial it helps prevent infection, but I have no proof of this. BTW, I don't think pneumonia is 'caused' by water in the lungs as much as by infection. I'm sure someone who knows more about this can explain in much more detail.

I've never noticed this.
