Ok I'll back off now and let some other people post. I hope I am not being a story hog..
You are doing great...i got a case of writers block, but I am working on a couple things...if you think of something, write it down.
I enjoy what you've done Mac. I bet this weekend will bring some additional input. You keep it up though!
i have about 3 ideas working, and all 3 are headed in 3 different directions...whenever I write it and re-read it, it just doesnt read right. I hate writing something that gives a definite path with no way to add to it.
You guys...should we open another thread for story parts & pieces that are "in the works" ? That way you could post what you've written, and we could decide where it should be placed into the story's official thread ?

the story is going great. I don't have any ideas about what new to add, but i hope that something will come to mind as the story grows.
Not a bad idea, but some of the stuff i write is in bits and pieces. I hate to bring English class into this, and lets just say that my last English class was well over 20 years ago, but a basic outline would be nice. It would ruin the creativity of anyone adding to the story though. As it stands, there is no right or wrong answers. The only thing we have to do is watch for continuity from one person to the next and let the story go where it will.
I am still not happy with my first post (the one I removed) because I think that it belongs after the posts by Whynot and Mac, but I re-posted it. Macs post ended with Hiro on a Harley, mine ended with the sound of an approaching Harley. The next couple of posts brought us back to the station with Ella. If we could take my post and insert it after the battle at the station, it would read better, but thats just me.
I really like what everyone else has posted so far though. I didnt do enough research on my Ella back story and just wrote a bunch of crap down. Thankfully Mac and Whynot covered for me. I guess thats the fun of doing a story online with lots of people.

Agree. I like the challenge of filling in the blanks of others and enjoy the daunting task of this "write as you go" type of structure. I have never done anything like this and am enjoying it quite a bit. The truth is I could have written volumes more then I have so far but I am really liking other people's input. If it was all me Ella would have been a bad guy and there would have been no Marcus. Feeding off of each others creative ground work is brillaint and a sure fire way of writing something original that doesn't feel like another self cannibalized concept.
I don't have a problem with that. I think it makes sense and I don't see any reason not to do so.
It is fun for that reason. And there is nothing wrong with being vauge. I have purposely not explained what a de-locater is for the same reason. I want to see what happens when someone else takes my idea and runs with it. So far this story is awesome!
+1. Write what ideas you have, it might spark someone else into looking at a different 'cooler' direction than they had originally planned. Originally, I had thoughts of Ella being a 'bad guy' too and Hiro just being blind to it due to his 'sinful thoughts' getting in the way of reason. A strong, integrated Ella works a lot better than a quick laugh and a series of 'women will get you every time' jokes through the rest of the story. I don't mind the change in direction at all and I appreciate the new challenge... even if I can't get it 'right' on paper yet.
Loved the last addition. Things are moving along nicely. Also want to point out for future posts that we have made Ella a telepath, so that's another tool in your bags..
I forgot about that. Gonna be hard to hide secrets from her. I am hoping that the medical center is only part of the journey and we end up having more travels. At the moment, the way I see it, the big battle is going to be the team vs Marcus, but I had an idea that possibly the team could join Marcus and go against the corp that steals ideas.
Dont know if we need to do a poll (this is all you Mac) about the future and what way to take the characters?
I have ideas for both ways so it doesnt matter to me, but I would hate to make it go in a direction that the majority hates. At the moment, Marcus is only eating shamblers so he can still be a good guy. There is also a vial of the serum or whatever you want to call it to possibly turn Hiro and Gabriel into whatever Ella and Marcus are. Or the vial can be saved as the final weapon against Marcus. Theres tons of possibilities, I am just throwing stuff out there so maybe someone will take the lead.
There is still a back story with both Marcus (free advertising Mac) and with Hiro as well.
I have considered those exact same scenarios. Ella and Marcus are really both wild cards here. Either could end up going power mad or rediscovering their humanity. They could team up or it could be a final battle. There are still 2 charges left on the de-locator too, so that could also be a viable weapon against Marcus, Ella or the the creatures lurking beneath the sub basement of the CDC building. As far as I am concerned this could end up being an 1800 page trilogy and I wouldn't mind.
I am gonna post again now.
Lets make a pact now then...when and if this story ever ends, and when Hollywood decides to make it into a movie, ALL who posted will share the profits equally.

We also need to introduce a couple characters from the corporation. I am thinking the CEO can be named Richard Kranium, but thats as far as I got so far.
This all is highly amusing! Better than television! I only wish I could focus long enough to contribute. By the time I can stop for long enough . . . things have changed. I think that is what is making this interesting . . . the story is moving well!
