Just to start off, I'm loving this forum already. I did when I saw how much information was available, so I could finally make a good choice, and even more so seeing that I could log register and log in easily with the 'Connect to Facebook' button.

See below the rambling for simple questions.

I tend to be a 'social smoker,' not smoking much, but it also helps during anxiety attacks or when I just need to let my mind slow down a bit. I enjoy it quite a bit, though I am asthmatic and especially right now with the weather changing and getting sudden cold days. At one point when I was smoking a little more often (still only one or two a day, but fairly regularly) I suffered a major asthma attack and nearly passed out, and had to give up smoking for a while to recover.

That considered, if anyone thinks there might be concerns since I do have existing health problems, let me know. Though I do have a friend that cannot smoke due to a sensitivity, but uses something else that will produce a vapor or do something to the smoke (not sure, I'd have to ask) and he can use that, which is making me think using the ecig would be a much better option, and still allow me to enjoy 'smoking.'

And of course, there have been several things like the irritation at not being able to smoke in the car (trying to keep it in good shape, which also means smoke free of course), designated smoking areas, and my friends' concerns for my health.

So, here I am. I've been looking at a the 510 due to the manual battery, and the m-series (likely 401). Dipping at home, carts on the go. Very typically I'd smoke camels, menthols, cherry if they're available (once in a blue moon, really) and cloves.

Prior to finding this site, I was looking at possibly trying to mix and match somehow, liking the atomizer from one place, or a battery at another. It's nice getting to know the models for what they are. Is there any way to say, take the battery of the Blu and use it with one of the other models? That's not quite what I'm looking at doing, but I remember looking at the Blu for a long time so it came off the top of my head.

Okay, if you couldn't tell by now, I tend to ramble on. So, details are above, simple questions below:

1) I know this is an 'ask your doctor' sort of question, though I certainly didn't get her permission before smoking: Are there any concerns you've found with asthma or low blood pressure?

2) Mix and match: the m-series seems pretty versatile, though is there a way to get a manual battery from elsewhere, for instance? Or perhaps if I like the design of one of the big brand e-cigs and would like to use the battery with another model? Looking at modding was interesting, though it may be a bit before I consider it.

3) I've found a lot if sites listed throughout the forums, though so far I was looking at ordering from heaven-gifts.com, mentioned in the Wonderful World of vaping thread. Though we're strapped for cash, so I'm looking at as inexpensive as I can get without getting something cheap. I've looked through a few sites so far, and this seems to be the best. Is there a better one out there I haven't come across yet? The guide doesn't seem to have gotten that far.

4) Starter kit: I've found I can put together my own 'starter kit' with blank carts and the juice I want, rather than what they have to offer with the standard starter kit. Would it be better to just get the starter kit, and get what I want on top of it, or might it be okay to order just the pieces I want?

And of course, any other advice not in some of the newbie guides and recommendations is always welcome. I'm probably going to run off and look at other experiences with the 510 and the 401. Though it looks like quite a few newbies have ordered the 510.

If you decide to go with the 510, it would be hard to put together the same items as a starter kit w/2 ea. attys and batteries, 5 carts and the charger for the $35 that you can find. Then just add some juice and you'll be off to a start.

As for your asthma, others will have to answer that, but you might look into Nhaler's lung recovery juice which has several herbs added. If you have low bp, you should be monitoring that. I've seen several posts concerning people on bp meds that had to have them reduced after quitting analogs. With your limited smoking, it may not affect you much.

I have heard that many people with asthma have been able to put aside their asthma meds after vaping instead of smoking. I myself have a 510 and it did get me off the analogs, but I just got my Vapor King from Vapor4Life and was blown away! The taste, the ease of use, everything is just so much better then the 510 in my opinion. I highly recommend it! Before you purchase, go to the Vapor4Life forum (it is in the supporting suppliers section on this website) and read what people are saying.

I like my 510, but I adore my Vapor King and wish I had found it first! And Steve at V4L really takes care of his customers.

Whichever you choose, I wish you success! I have been smoke free for almost 3 weeks now after smoking a pack a day for more than half my life! I have quit several times but not a day went by that I didn't crave a cigarette. For the first time I actually do not want or need a cig, and that is huge for me! :D
