Hey guys my names Jim I'm just coming up to my 23rd birthday and think it's about time I changed the way I look at life!

I've been smoking since I was 13 years old and over the past 10 years I've tried multiple quitting techniques from patches to oral sprays and all have not even touched the sides of the problem, I heard from a friend about e cigs an thought it may be worth a try!

Basically what I want to know is the e cig market is a huge and weird place to me , so many models so many liquids, as a brand new person trying e cigs what should I be spending my money on to get the best start at this?

Thank you very much for your time and effort

Jim

Hi Jim,

Congrats on quitting the nasty analogs! It's a big step towards leading a healthy & happy life. There are so many models and variations that are out there. Best bet would be to go on to youtube and check out Indoor Smokers..or Tia Vapes...these folks pretty much cover all the models out there and will suggest what best suits your vaping needs as of right now! A lot depends on your budget, your style of smoking..whether you enjoy dense smoke versus more flavor or more of a throat hit. It depends on the kind of tank you buy, what kind of juice you use for it, what kind of battery you use to fire your system up and lastly if not the least, the kinds of coils & wicking methods used for these tanks. I can tell you...it's a journey..so start small..buy small..see if u like what u tried. If not...you can always upgrade. But right off the bat, I would say an ileaf Istick20w MOD and a nautilus mini by Aspire is a very very good sweet spot to start of on. Buy ejuices from good brands like Spacejam or Suicide bunny or whatever..in a 50:50 PG/VG ratio with a 12mg nicotine level to help u get ur daily nicotine. If you find budgetary constraints...I would say, go for a Vision Spinner 2 Battery with a Mini Protank 3 by Kanger. I have both of the above models & they have helped me immensely in getting a satisfying smoking(vaping) experience!

Rest..highly recommend taking time out and invest in reading up &/or educating yourself by watching youtube videos. TONS of info out there..Best of luck to you friend..Happy vaping!

I agree with most of what you said, but not the Istick 20w -- the Istick 30W has a lot of improvements beyond just the wattage. It would be well worth it to get the 30.

Hello and welcome to the forum @JimGreenwood. Glad to have you here!:)

I often recommend an iStick 30 watt or Coolfire 4 (both are mods) with an Aspire Mini Nautillus or eLeaf GS Air M (tanks). Videos below.

Innokin Coolfire 4
Aspire Nautilus Mini
eLeaf GS Air M Tank

If you are interested in learning more about e-cigarettes (and all the parts and pieces) below is a blog by ECF member @Baditude that I highly recommend for someone new to vaping.
Here are a few more links from New Members Information <= Link covers many topics. Here are two of them:
Nicotine

A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If you are subohming (resistance under 1.0Ω) cut these nicotine levels by at least 50%.

06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes

eLiquid/Juice

PG = Propylene Glycol - the "flavor carrier" of e-liquid. A secondary source of "throat hit", but not as strong as the nicotine concentration. Some people have a sensitivity or even an allergy to PG. It's very thin.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin - the "vapor maker" of e-liquid. Used as a sweeter in many food sources, and also as a skin emollient. It's very thick. Often labeled just "Glycerine"

PG and VG are often used together in different ratios in e-liquid. For example, a 50/50 PG/VG ratio. Some juice vendors offer a range of different ratios as far as PG/VG.

I did gather it wasn't going to be as easy as going and buying 50gs of amber leaf :p, I think I'm going to go with the eleaf 30w everyone and all the videos I've seen say it's a good starting place now I just need to decide on a tank and order the bad boys!

On the flip side, I live in the UK where would be a good reliable place to get liquids from guys?

Thank you all so much!

Goon on ya mate! istick 30 is a wise choice! Try nautilus mini or the Lemo GS as Susan-S suggested. At the end of the day, what works best for you is WHAT is BEST according to your personal preferences. There really isnt one perfect tank/mod/juice whatever. You being in UK is like being in the land of milk & honey my man! Look at me...from India....gotta wait for relatives & cousins to visit me for getting my gear and juices. Some people have all the luck huh! :p

Well...you could try

http://www.ecigwizard.com/

https://www.ukecigstore.com

There is Vapeescape.com too...I dunno....just telling you from what I have culled of the Net reading peoples reviews etc..

There is ..

E Cig and E Liquids | Electronic Cigarette Stockport

Try & see what site offers you good deals etc

Cheerio

Happy Vaping

One other question I work on a farm, dusty wet cold mucky atmosphere all year round, will thy cause a problem for a e cig at all?
May or may not be an issue depending on how dusty and how cold.

Dust could get in between the connection of your mod & tank. You would just have to clean it more often with a q-tip & PGA (pure grain alcohol). Dust could get in the airflow holes of your tank. You might have to clean the tank more often.

Cold could cause your juice to have problems wicking. You could keep your mod/tank on a lanyard stored close to your body to address this.
