Complete tarnish ?

Lol i know these is a odd question but do anybody have had there alpja complete tarnish ? i actually love mine that way but i cannot tarnish the battery sleeve and the RES

Mine is, but it took forever to finally get it that way. Just keep using it without cleaning it and it will get there eventually.

Yes the RES sleeve dont want to tarnish also the cap its gonna be hard i guess.

Looks_like_sulphur_would_do_the_trick.

One_method_found:

Boil_an_egg
Remove_all_white
Place_items_in_ziplock
Crumble_boiled_yolk_in_bag
seal,_watch.

Another_I_found_was_vinegar_or_mustard_bath.

Some_recommend_HCA,_but_that_seems_too_strong.

There_is_also_a_metal_darkening_fluid...

Search_nickel_tarnishing_solution.

Another_method:

Immersion black nickel:
potassium thiocyanate....6 gm
sodium sulphate..........100 gm
ammonium persulphate.....2oo gm
ferric sulphate..........10 gm
water....................1 lit
pH 1-2,instead persulphate you can use Hydrogen Peroxide [linked by editor to product info at Amazon]
according to Fishlock: Metal Colouring, Teddington 1962.

Man thank you very much , im gonna try the vinegar and if that doesnt do the RES sleeve il search for one of the fluids you mention.

Purposeful_tarnishing_is_considered_altering_the_metal--etching/etc.

You_need_to_get_it_off_and_clean/lube_it_ASAP.

I've_been_too_busy_at_work_to_try_anything_other_than_constant_fondling.

Just_get_that_cap_off_ASAP.

I_have_a_spare_used_RES_you_can_have_super-SUPER_cheap_if_yours_is_ruined.

Not_as_fast_as_the_base,_but_it_is_getting_there.

No_change_in_the_battery-sleeve--Innovapor's_drip_tip_is_turning_now_too.
