I had written a nice reply to throatkick, but seems as soon as I finish with my replies...I am ask to sign in again. I don't know why this is happening. Anyway, I am thankful for all the information I have received. Thanks for being so patient with this newbie. I think I can now make a semi-intelligent decision about what kind to buy and how many. I'm still a bit confused about cart vs cartomizer, but think I can figure it out before I order. I hope to one day be able to say "I used to be a smoker". Thanks again! Oh and good luck with the book throatkick. The first couple of chapters were very informative.

Welcome to ECF and good luck in your new lifestyle decision! I was a 2-3 pack a day smoker for 30 years and in 3 days quit entirely using the PV / E-cig once I got my equipment figured out! My wife quit that quick also and my mom who was a 50 year smoker did it also! It can be done!
Mistress Nomads Newbie videos were a great help! Don't let the title fool you vaping for broke people as I feel it is more about how to not waste $'s if you don't need to! Also alot of good videos on youtube on the subject! Also don't be disappointed to much with your 1st e-cig purchase because it got you started in the right direction! Most of us had the same 1st time encounter and bought an inferior product!
This community is an awesome place! The veterans spend alot of time in the new member section helping out!

I am new too and I was (still am) equally confused.I just keep reading things and trying to learn. There is nothing like coming into a new situation and you don't know much. Especially when it comes to new technology. But I am learning and learning fast. A lot of people here seem to know so much so just keep reading and hopefully get to ordering your equipment so you can be smoke free!
Yes, they're still being sold. Although, since I stopped buying them, the two places I used to buy from have stopped stocking them. I reckon I was the only customer buying them. But, I've seen them at a gasoline station as recently as a month ago. I have to admit here and now, when I spotted them I dang near inquired as to their price! But, I didn't. Yay me! I don't believe Nat Sherman still sells 200s though. Those were outrageously long, and I bought them several times way back in the early 1980s ... just for fun. They cost about double what premium cigarettes in the grocery store cost. Back then, I guess that would be arround $2.50 per pack (box actually).Do they still sell the More brand? 120 mm Skinny as a string but long as a golf club
I use metric tools in my job and have for decades. So, that part is second nature to me. Metric is SO much easier if you just use it without having to worry about conversions. And, I'm sure that would go for metric speeds too, although the conversion factor is pretty simple at 1 MPH ~ 1.6 KPH. I do have to do some conversions from inches to millimeters at work, and the factor 25.4 is more deeply burned into my brain than is my own telephone number.

Meremist, until a month ago, I was a 40 year pack a day Kool smoker who had no intention to quit. You are ahead of the game, because you want to quit. All of the people on here have been through the same things as you are going through, and genuinely want to help. These things are literally life savers.
