lately I've been experimenting with thicker wire to try and get all of my rda using the same gauge. I have a stock patriot that I like around .75 ohm a trident at .5 and an omega at .35. I usually use 30g in the patriot and trident, and 26g in the omega. I ran out of 30g so I tried using 26g. I wasn't really expecting much change building to the same resistance but in both atomizers the vape is much hotter, and there is significantly less vapor coming out of the patriot. I honestly thought if anything it would be cooler and have more vapor. I'm just really confused right now.

old build on the trident, dual coil 3/4 wrap 30g kenthal wrapped around 2mm braided silica doubled over. new build dual coil 5/6 wrap 26g kenthal on a 3mm jig. old build on the patriot dual coil 5/6 wrap 30g kenthal on 2mm braided silica doubled over. new build 7/8 wrap 26g around 3mm jig. the resistance in the trident metered the same .5ohms with both builds while the patriot was just a little lower .75 with the old build and .7 with the new.

been there done that, that's what's confusing me. according to steam engine the vape should be cooler than before, but it is definitely hotter.
All else being equal, the use of thicker wire, with no other changes... should run a cooler heat flux.

Enter your builds, one at a time, into SE... and provide the individual links to those builds, including wattage for each. I'll review them for accuracy and comparative values.
