hi all, new member seeking some advice, i appear to of turned into a heavy chainsmoker over last few years and recently tried a disposable 10motives ecig and although not great i think i may provide an alternative to help to kick the habit.

started looking for a better alternative than the 10motive but the market is saturated and confusing so can anyone advise on what model i should use to fit the following.

looks like a normal cig
easy to use
good value
delivers good throat hit

getting all mixed up with different types etc etc just looking for a product that fits the above, any help appreciated.

I started with a disposible too. Then my first e-cigg was the Njoy. I just bought the basic kit with one cartomizer and one battery and a charger. It was *somewhere* to start. Also, when I decided I just couldn't live without something a little jazzier, and didn't even care anymore if it looked like a real one, I found that you can indeed refill the cartomizer on the Njoy until your real deal comes. Keep reading on here and hold on to your hat. It's confusing at first. It takes a couple of weeks for it to sink in. The learning curve is huge but very doable and worth it! :)

Everyone wants something that looks like a cig at first until they find out that even an ecig the same size as a cig is too heavy to hold in your lips like a cig and battery life is about an hour and a half. They find themselves waiting on the charger. Charging takes an hour to an hour and a half and that's about the life of a charge on the one you are vaping.

The best first ecig is by far the eGo or Riva. You get 5 to 6 hours on a charge and still only take an hour to an hour and a half to charge batteries. Add to that the fact that you can't use certain atomizers on a small battery. Low resistance atomizers provide the best flavor and vapor, but draw too much current for smaller 180mah batteries. The eGo and Riva are 650mah and 750mah batteries.

At $29.95 for a Riva kit with two complete ecigs with higher drain 750mah batteries, you can't go wrong and you can use just about any 510 atomizer you desire, as well as cartomizers, which give you great flavor and vaper.

The $29.95 Riva kit from Liberty Flights can be purchased here. E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings. Click the 20% off icon at the top fo the page for the discounted price.

Hi ezekiel and welcome to ECF. Here's a U.K. vendor that has a great reputation here at ECF:
E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings
You could look at the Riva, eGo or the E-Power depending on your needs. There's also a 20% discount.
When buying remember this about batteries:
on a single coil cartomizer 100 mah= 1 hour vaping time before recharge.
on a dual coil cartomizer 100 mah= 1/2 hour vaping time before recharge.
A good throat Hit (TH) usually comes from the amount of Nic and PG in the juice. Battery size also has some impact.
Buy manual batteries because they put you in control of the vape and are less likely to suffer damage from juice. Some Vets will come alo0ng shortly to offer additional advice. Remember MOST new vapers buy a starter kit but eventually upgrade...just something to keep in mind if you're on a budget IMHO.
Good Luck, Vapoor.

Like you I'm new. I started with a gas station model then bought a Joye 510. It came with atomizers but I quickly invested in cartomizers. Better throat hit, easier to use and it lasts me 2 - 3 days before I have to refill.

The battery is the size of a cigarette which is also something I wanted. I only have to recharge 1 - 2 days.

I haven't smoked since I got it. I smoked about 10 analogs a day. I do about 40 vapes a day now.

I bet you'll be getting lot's of opinions not a one truth. I'll say you are better of giving yield a little on your specs and consider 510-Riva. Skip the Cartomizer step, use attys with cartridges and make yourself familiar with "drip tipping" a little later.

Tried it, don't like it. I know some people like dripping, but to me it's not even close to a good cartomizer.

Each to his own; as long as you are enjoying it, more power to you.

I was wanting one that looks like an analog till I was reading up about battery life. And the idea of having to press a button to fire it up? I wanted to take a drag and have the PV do all the work.

Instead of going with something that looked like an analog I went with an eGo. It takes a day or two but you get used to the difference in size and having to press the button. I'm sure most other folks here would agree on that.

Everyone is different.... Moving up to a heavier manual battery might save you a step in your vaping journey and save you a few quid but skipping a step.

Throat hit is partially subjective and depends as much on equipment as the juice you are using.

Take my comments for what they are, opinion. I am not, nor do I claim to be, an expert vapist.

Some of the DIY box mods I have seen have been priced good but the ease of use over just screwing on a carto might be daunting at first. I don't have a VV (variable voltage) mod but have been looking into building one on my own.

This. You think you want a cig sized one now. a week later you will kick yourself for not getting the longer lasting battery types.

looks like a normal cig - how about a cigar?
easy to use - most are
good value - need to shop around but liberty-flights has good prices
delivers good throat hit - "looks like a normal cig" won't deliver a good TH

I suggest an eGo or Riva kit from liberty-flights, a couple boxes of Boge 2.0ohm cartomizers, and a drip tip.

All excellent recommendations. These brands/styles of eCigs rock. You can't go wrong with any of them and you'll find you'll be back asking about a second backup kit anyway. My advice? Pick one of the ones suggested (any of them), sit back and relax with your vape as you research even more. There are so many of them out there, and so many ways to vape them. Just get a kit, get started, then go crazy with decisions.

If you're a 1 pack a dayer, then go with the Volt. It's really easy to set up and vape when the clock chimes.
If you're a 2 pack a dayer, then go with the eGo. You'll be charging less often.

Then get both anyway.
The sealed drip resistant Automatic Volt handles those hands free times, those coffee cup moments, and the "holding" habit, quite well. It's a regulated 3.7v vape which means you'll get a good vape each and every time. Recharge about every 3.5 hours.
The eGo is tops battery and charging batteries wise, and you can get a good 6-8 hours between charges. You can use tanks, and EMDCC's and all kinds of goodies on your eGo. (especially great for long excursions away from chargers).

If you're at the computer a lot, then I would suggest a PT (passthrough).
The eGO PT lets you vape while it's charging as well as unplugged. Can't go wrong with an eGo PT!
The Volt PT lets you vape while it's plugged in.

Good luck!!
