I have read some guides but can't really grasp a couple things.

I went to the Liberty-Flights page as suggested in a previous post, I wanna try the Joy Ego.

I wanna go with a starter kit. I smoke about two packs a day and need a battery that lasts that long. I often don't make it back home for a couple days as I tend to party at my club house a lot so I would have to buy extras I'm sure.

I smoke menthol but did not see any menthol cartridges on the site. Am I ......ed? If I get a different battery, do I have to buy a different connector? Charger?

It's all a bit confusing.. sorry.. If anyone could help, I would be thankful.

Hello and welcome to ecf.
After clicking on the link below remember to click the 20% icon in their upper left hand corner.

Then on the left menu look for starter kits -Joye eGo
the one listed below is 39.99 + shipping....

also look for boge cartomizers for the 510(which is what connections the ego has) and you will need to buy juice to fill those cartomizers....

The Joye ego or Riva ego is a 510 model so pretty much everything will fit that. No worries.

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

You can get the t-rex caro deluxe for $34.39 But you will need to purchase a wall charger. The cartos that come with this kit are empty so you need to buy juice and fill them.

You can get the Riva lite Bundle (same page) for $29.99 that comes with a wall charger. This kit comes with atomizers and cartridges and if you want cartomizers, you purchase them separately. The carts with this kit are empty too and you fill them yourself.

You can get the Joye Ego on this page that comes with prefilled cartridges for $39.99. In the notes section when you order, just type that you want menthol

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Joye eGo

You'll be happy with any of the kits. Regardless of which kit you get, you'll need more juice. Definitely more than the 5 cartridges that come with the Joye kit. I'd order at least 30 ml of juice from a juice vendor.

Juice is separate from ecigs. Prefilled carts suck and after that you will be adding juice to carts (your first cart can last physically a long time, you can clean and dry it and restuff with blue foam or fluval. People get sick of carts then start using a drip tip on the atomizer (bot when driving!) and cartomizers (Boge 510 cartos are great and your battery will last the longest with the standard reisstance ones and less long with the LR low resistance 2.5 or 2.0 ones). Cartos do not last forever but if I use fairly thin fairly clear juices a Boge carto should last a week or more. And some people manage to clean/dry and reuse beyond that.

Buy extra Ego charger cables. Then you can charge a battery on any computer's motherboard USB. You can also find Ego PCC - a portable charger case that can recharge a few time.

Oh - remember to press the 20% off in the upper left of Liberty-Flights.com front page and make sure you are on the US site (the US flag).

The terribly tricky part - what Ego parts fit with what. It is beyond me. One tube size needs bigger carts and bigger drip tip, the other tube size is more like 510 and slim and uses 510 drip tips and 510 carts? And then there are the tank models - the bigger atty can use small or large tanks. I would start with the regular Ego - you can always buy a tank atty and tanks if you want to try tanks.

And wow - amongst all of its tobacco flavors I see no menthol at Liberty-Flights. Anyone know a west coast juice place that ships fast?

So, I pour the E Liquid into the cartomizer and this is = to 3 analog cigs? This is where I am getting lost.

Actually you drip the juice in the inside of the cartomizer while tilting it slighty...usually holds around 30 drops......fill slowly and watch it absorb and when it looks like a slushy, put the cap back on and if any liquid comes out the battery end, no harm done, just wipe clean with a paper towel.....
As to how many cigs are equal, that would depend on the nic strength in the juice.....

Ego comes as a 3-piece type: battery + atomizer + should have 1 pack of cartridges aka carts (a cart is just plastic and stuffing, w/ some juice in it if prefilled). if you buy some special cartomizer Ego kit somewhere then it may not have carts

Cartomizers ala cartos are disposable combined cart + atomizer all in one piece and screw right on the battery. You usually have to buy cartomizers separately and I recommend Boge - good simple soft-cap stuffing-type cartos that work well. The standard ones around 3.0 ohms are the least hot and use the least battery charge per drag. The lower ohms ones are hotter and use more charge.

How I fill cartos
Pop out the soft cap with an unbent paperclip in the mouth hole, very careful not to catch stuffing or the wire loop.
Shake and open the eliquid
Hold a bit of tissue on the threaded end hole, tilt the carto, and add 18+ drops per ml of capacity into the stuffing (Boges are about 1ml)
Clean up the threaded end, tilt open end down into tissue, puff into threaded end to clear air channel (Boges have a defined center air channe and I want to see light through thatl)
Sop up any loose juice above the stuffing
Cap and let it settle - I lay it on different sides for 15-20 minutes to make sure every bit of stuffing gets damp so I won't singe the carto. if you use thicker juice than me then you may need to wait much longer.

Then while I am vaping a carto, if the vapor gets a bit dry or a bit light or the carto starts feeling warmer, I take it off the battery and do the above but just to add what it seems to need and no settling time is needed if you keep a carto damp. I sometimes use a plastic drip tip as a mouthpiece on a carto instead of the endcap (feels good and and easy to pull out when juice is needed. I do not drip into a drip tip on a Boge - juice would aim foor the central air channel)

Since you are new to e-cigs, I recommend keeping it simple:

1. Get the Joye eGo 510 Standard bundle at liberty flights. Make sure to click the link in the upper left corner to save 20%.
2. Get either 5 more blank cartridges (which are the same as what come with the kit ) and 2 spare atomizers, or 5 cartomizers. The cartomizers are all-in-one parts, both the atomizer and cartridge combined.
3. Get some menthol e-liquid. I recommend getting 30ml of liquid, I suggest 3 10ml bottles of different flavors.

The cartridges are simpler: to refill, you drop the liquid into the cartridge, and stick it back on the atomizer, and go. The cartomizers are better in that they usually hold more liquid. However, they are not as simple as cartridges, and the atomizers built into them do not last as long as the atomizers that come with your kit. Many people do prefer these though after getting into vaping.

The eGo batteries do last a long time, and charge pretty quickly. The standard eGo kit comes with a USB charger, which is nice, as you can charge your batteries on any PC or laptop. It also comes with a wall plug that you connect the USB charger to if you want to charge the batteries off a wall plug.

If you are going to be somewhere for more than a day where you don't have access to either a USB port or wall plug, then get the PCC kit for the eGo. You can charge one battery in the PCC while using the other. I don't own the PCC for the eGo, so I don't know how long it charges before itself needs charging. Actually, I may suggest it anyway as it is a easy way to carry everything together.
