Although I have been a “lurker” for quite some time now while doing research about eCigs, if it were not for this thread (Thanks to a post by “Blowgunguy” that lead me here) and reading all 74 pages, including “lolady” (aka: “–lol–” ) individual posts/blog, I probably never would have registered or even dared to post in this forum (as can be attested to by my name: “NotLittleGettingOlderMan” in homage to “lolady”).
I could not say it any better than “lolady” has and like she mentioned in her first post, I too have been a “heavy” smoker (and still am) since the age of 14 (OH my – 43 years). I am now up to 2 ½ to 3 packs a day (sometimes 4) – and menthol to boot (I really liked “Kool” 100’s Ultra Lights till they took them off the market). So for numerous reasons, mainly health (very similar to “lolady”), although I really do not want to, because I enjoy it too much – I need to stop smoking analogs (hope I got that right). However, I find it very difficult and extremely hard to do so, especially given that I am emotionally, mentally, and physically addicted to smoking. Matter of fact, it is so bad for me that when I am going somewhere I cannot smoke – I smoke even more before I get there (getting on a plane or going to a friend’s home who does not allow smoking is “H*LL” – I do chain smoke & even wear a 21 mg nicotine patch just to try to get through it). I’ve tried all the pills (big mistake for me), patches, gum, and lozenges – they have not worked for me. I even tried a couple eCig’s and one in particular that a friend sent me – but it was horrible and no real menthol taste (to much like mint gum for me). And now that I have moved into a new residence that does not allow smoking in your own apartment (No - I didn’t know before I signed the lease) – I have got to STOP.
So a very BIG THANKS “lolady” !!!! Reading the comments by you and what you are going through have given me even more reason to consider taking up “vaping” with an eCig so I can try to stop smoking too. Hopefully, I will find the right one with a true menthol taste that is also easy to use – I am getting the New G6 by Halo when it becomes available this Monday, June 20th (as per my last communication with Jay Balzio, Director of Business Development at Halo).
Again, a BIG THANKS! ! ! To you “lolady” – you’re such a wonderful writer (BTW, I agree with a lot of your comments about the new “socially & politically” accepted bias against smokers) – I will be looking forward to reading your next Post/Blog . . .
BTW, instead of being adopted as one of your many “children” here in the forum – could I be adopted as your younger “Brother” from another mother/father (Oh, I can’t wait to have so many more nieces & nephews than I already have) . . . LOL

Thank you so much for the heads up - I already have the coffee - and a "smoke" in hand (My bad I know). However, given the last persons, comment I am looking for a moderater to delete my post here and I may even consider starting another thread later . . .

We all love lolady.....but we can't really get to know you unless you post your own thread.....I am sure lolady would not mind one bit, us posting in her thread, but one of your own may make things easier to navigate.........and you could ask questions if you have any.....just a thought..

nlgom, you can leave this one here. Just go up and post another one that says "New Here - My own thread" or something like that. That way Sugar and Spice and I and Del Boy and everybody else can talk to you. you will still have this one here. You can visit both threads....leave the one you posted here (like Del Boy says.....lolady will get a kick out of it.) and just go post another one. If things go the way they're supposed to, you'll be posting LOTS of your own threads....'cuz I'm sure we can help you be successful at this and you'll become a fixture here just like the rest of us! LOL We're not saying leave this thread; we're saying let's do two threads. You're welcome to be here all you want and to say anything you want here. In fact, I daresay she's already signed the papers for you to be her "brother" with the resultant status of "Uncle Not" to all these adoptees....

We would very much like to get to know you, so if you start your own thread you'll probably see some of us there. However, please do NOT have your post deleted. I am thinking only of the delight it will bring our Lady in Indian land, and am awaiting her response to it with bated breath...
Again, welcome!!! Both to the forum and to this thread...hope you can be here sometime when she makes her appearances, and join in all the fun!
