Consistent Flavors

I've ordered from several suppliers over the past few months and I have some fave flavors but I've noticed that new orders of a favorite flavor often taste different from my original order from the same vendor. Some have been subtle changes... some more apparent.

Consistent flavors are kind of important so what happens to a new batch? Are the recipes changed? The ingredients? I know some mixes need a while to 'merge' after creating so that probably factors in. Does the PG or VG age in the bottle and change the taste?

If you DIY, what is the best method of making sure a new batch tastes the same?

It's best to ask the vendors themselves. Some (most?) will tweak their recipes based on feedback from their customers. These tweaks don't always work out as well as the originals. If you don't like the new version, then you need to let them know.

Oh I keep a running dialog with my vendors. I don't have any gripe with them. I'm just wondering about it in general and what others have experienced.

Some like to tweak as candre says - Ive noticed it. Others get their base flavors changed on them by the company that makes them without prior notice (had that happen too, Im looking at YOU Loranns) and the vendor only realises when the customers complain. Not much you can do when that happens though.
