I just got an IGO-L in from OKCVapes and no matter what I do with this thing I always get a burning taste. I can usually still taste the juice but there is always a burned taste even when its at 3.0V.

Right now, I have a 2.1 Ohm coil that I made out of 32 Gauge Kantal (my vamo reads it as 2.1 Ohms), it's wicked with 1mm Threaded Ekowool.

I also tried putting in some premade coils that I had in my drawer, don't remember where they came from, and same thing, a burning taste.

I had to use a 510-eGo adapter because without it my vamo wouldn't make contact with the igo-l.

I would take a picture but I don't have a good enough camera.

Any suggestions? :( What am I doing wrong?

Should have said this in my original post, I can smell the burning when the cap isn't even on. I'm also sitting under a ceiling fan so the vapor gets blown away pretty quickly when the cap isn't on.

Is your air hole lined up with coil? Also do you have drill to make air hole a little larger? If its lined up and still not working right larger airhole may help :) Also have coil set up on posts so when its on your Vamo that the airhole is facing away from you .

Have you tried a few different juices with the same result (burning smell)? Is it possible your coil is wrapped too tightly or loosely around the wick? It should be loose enough that you can slide the individual wick pieces with little effort, tight enough that it can't easily slide out.

Also as Vash said, make sure the air hole is aligned so it is pointing directly at the coil (same distance from the deck also).

Have you done a dry burn with the wick before using the coil.Usually a dry burn is needed,it burns off all the chemicals and residue that can give off a burning smell. If the dry burn is not done the smell will continue until it is vaped off.

I would also check and see if the coil is setting on the deck where the positive post insulator is.That could be giving off the burnt smell too, lift the coil up off the deck and the smell should go away.
