It may be a long shot but it did happen on one of my mods in wattage mode and I had to adjust my tank pin to stop the issue. What might have happened was my tank pin was too far out and it pushed the adjustable positive pin on the mod in too far creating some kind of power burst into the coil. It also could of been just a bad connection because of the pin as well causing resistance increase , which increased wattage not sure. All I know is when I used another tank with a slightly shorter pin it never happened. Some have said they came across this issue and because of that, they run in voltage mode

Normally a Boost of power is due to a loose/weak connection or damaged component/wire, artificially increasing read ohms and delivering incorrectly calculated Voltage.
i.e. - .4ohm coil receiving 40w calculated for a .8ohm coil - Almost 8v instead of the intended 4v.

I have a Regulated mod currently reading almost 2x standing resistance and still use it, at about 1/2 normal wattage settings.

I placed the rda on my kangertech that I have lying around and it also has the same issue, getting around the same amount of hits before a dry hit. I have also tried vaping on the snowwolf then switching it but to no avail. Once it dry hits, the coil can be heard sizzling for awhile.

At the mean time, can anyone Recommend me a good rda lol. Something that won't cause any issues like this...

The Velocity or Magma Reborn are the two I would be looking at.

Could you take a picture of your build?
Here you go. It was neater before as I tried meddling with it to see if it would make a difference. Might take a look at the magma reborn as well. Thanks.

It's definitely getting too hot in the center.

From that one image I would say a couple or three things are wrong. The coil is too far away from the airflow, the wick isn't dense enough, and it appears you may have too much wick in the juice well.

Definitely the first two are issue, I can't really see in the juice well.

Have you tried using rayon instead of cotton?

No since its a little harder to find it here. I'll try to adjust the coils closer to the airflow and see if its helps. Thanks.

It totally sounds like insufficient cotton then. I have found that most of the time when you can hear that sizzle (being able to hear clearly, louder and longer the vaporization process ) it's too little wicking material. I know you said you tried more, and it could be something else, but at least with my tests and experience when I hear that afterburn louder and longer then usual, it's been the under wicking 90 percent of the time

Definitely under wicked in that photo and possibly too close to posts.
I'll give that a shot, thanks.

Please carefully watch 10:00-20:00 fog satisfactory coil building.

Looks like you coil is hot spotting in the center.

Definitely looks like it. Tried with more cotton and adjusting it closer to the airflow but with no noticeable difference. How do I tell if there is hot spot in the center? I usually adjust it till it glows evenly inside out.

Will try again with the method shown in the video. Thanks.

Followed the method shown in the video, slowly increasing my wattage. Making sure it is glowing as even as possible. Put in the right amount of cotton, where it is not choking the coils but still having a bit of tension as I pull through it. Placing the coils closer to the airflow, and cutting the wicks to sit right at the juice well.

By the 7 hit, burnt taste while still producing vapor. I really have no idea what the problem is. I noticed that there is still juice by the sides of the wick which shouldn't happen, even after trying the scottish roll method.

What happens if before the burnt hit, like the 6th or 7th pull, you add more juice? Does it continue to be good till 6 more pulls with no burnt hits and a good vape experience? What juice you using? Net juice or just regular?

On the 6th or 7th hit, there is a decrease in flavor. The flavor is pretty ok, but I have to increase the wattage. Massive spit back though. Not really getting the vapor I want or should be getting. Using regular juice. It should be 50/50. I noticed that majority of the juice on the center coils is boiling I think? And the sides of the wick stay wet.

You got me...... being that I don't own that tank, I can't say if 6 puffs is normal or not. I mean I don't think a coil vapes perfectly until it's completely dry, there is a point to which things start to drop off in flavor and vapor.

Another possibility that I have heard is a slight short maybe caused by a metal shaving or a small piece of kanthal that could be lodged down inside somewhere? It's never happened to me but have heard it can create a short maybe.

Don't think I am having that since everything seems to be working fine as I am dry firing it before putting the wicks in.

It seems that there is no solution to this. Either I am crap at building right now, or just bad luck.
