This is slowly starting to get under my skin. The site won't "remember me". I keep having to log in everytime I fire up my browser (Firefox) and if I walk away from the PC for a while, and come back, I've been logged off and need to log back in.

This has only started after the upgrade, and I was hoping it would get ironed out by now.

Please help!

Narrowed it down to the version of Firefox I was using. 4.0beta. I rolled back to the current "live" version of 3.6.10 and no more being logged off when I close the browser. It remembers me when I restart a browsing session.

This may help others in the same situation.

I'm gonna vent just a bit. I hate, hate, hate the new forum. I hate the way it looks and I hate all the ads. But the biggest gripe I have it constantly being signed off. It's not just when I go away for awhile, it happens when I read too long or take too long too write a reply to something. It's really driving me nuts. Does this have to do with Facebook or Firefox? I'm using 3.6.10.

I'm using the 4.0 Beta, and am having no problems. I'm betting that you have it set to clear cookies and history when you close the browser.

It's not FB.

Go to Tools, Options, Privacy, select Use Custom options from the drop-down, and then click Exceptions, type in e-cigarette-forum.com and click allow, then www.e-cigarette-forum.com and click Allow. Then next time you sign-in, make dead sure you select the Remember Me check-box.

Sorry, but my version of Firefox (3.6.10) does not have those options listed under Tools. I have used the Remember Me check-box and it still logs me out.

Hey Janet - I'm also using Firefox 3.6.10 - Here's what you need to do:

Go to Tools, then Options (at the bottom of the list). Select 'Privacy' from the tabs at the top of the pop up box, and then click on the drop-down box next to 'Firefox will:' - change it to 'Use Custom Settings for History'

You will then see a load of options come up. You need to click on 'Exceptions'. In the top box, enter e-cigarette-forum.com and click allow, then www.e-cigarette-forum.com and click Allow.

That should do it! Just remember to click the 'remember me' button when you sign in next.

I'm sorry you don't like the new styling. Unfortunately it's not really something we have much control over - we had to upgrade the software and it has been changed around somewhat by vBulletin. Our developer has tried to approximate the old style somewhat, though; if you go to the bottom of the site, you'll see a dropdown menu. Select 'Kirsch' from that and see what you think.

Kind regards,

SJ
