So if the analogs I used to smoke had 0.7 mgs. per cig,can someone give me the equivalent in e-juice for 6,12,and 18 mg.juice strengths?I'm trying to figure out what my nic.level per day was . Thank you so much,Susan

gramakittycat, We've been kicking this question around like crazy over on the nicotine determination thread, and the answer seems to be so far "we don't quite know."

If you were smoking a pack a day at 0.7 mg/cig, you were getting 14 mg of nicotine/day. If a 510 cart was filled, it might hold nearly 0.75 mL of liquid, which means that if you vaped one cart of 24 mg daily, you'd be getting a similar 18 mg/day. But then we're suspecting that nicotine delivery to the brain from liquid isn't as efficient as smoke, so it might actually take 2 or 3 carts/day to achieve the same thing. Again, a very hairy topic.

Find a nic level you like that satisfies you at your desired vaping frequency, and you're probably in the ballpark. :)

I smoked roughly 20-25 Marlboro Light Menthol cigarettes a day at ~0.7mg per cigarette. I was able to quit smoking analogs on the first day of vaping using 16mg liquid.

I use about 3ml of liquid per day at 12mg strength. I do use the occasional 20-24mg strength, but only for a jump start in the morning, then switch over to 12mg for the rest of the day.

DVap is absolutely correct, we really don't know, YMMV.

Interesting RP.

Vaporer and I were comparing notes on the nicotine determination thread I started, and we were throwing around a figure of roughly 2.5X the daily nicotine from vaping as being the amount that approximates our daily nicotine hit from smoking.

In your case, you were taking in roughly 14 - 18 mg of nicotine daily from smoking. You use 3 mL of 12 mg liquid per day (or 36 mg of nicotine vaped). Divide this 36 mg by the 2.5 figure that vaporer and I were throwing around, and we come up with 14.4 mg of nicotine. Exactly in the ballpark of what vaperer and I settled on.

gramakittycat,

If you were smoking a pack a day of the 0.7 mg, from what I've found and what RP has found, you might want to start at the following:

If you vape 1 mL of liquid a day, try 24 mg.
If you vape 2 mL of liquid a day, try 18 mg.
If you vape 3 mL of liquid a day, try 12 mg.
If you vape 4 mL of liquid a day, try 9 mg.

Hope this helps. :)

The matter complicates further as some people are reporting as needing far higher strength nic-liquid in order to feel like they are getting enough to stay off of analogs. Sometimes double the strength of Dekang's highest level, of 24mg. Which goes against my personal experience. The big problem is, analogs have so much extra garbage in them, it's not only the nicotine that we had become addicted to, it's a plethora of other chemicals. Then there is the length of time that you have the vapor in your lungs before exhaling, and possibly the voltage that your atomizer runs at. There are people who had reported using 36mg liquid in their cigarette size PV's, and could not handle it at 6V, and dropped down in the 10-12 range, or even lower.

I would have to think that this has to do with the amount of liquid consumed with the Big Battery mods. Compared to my 510 or 901, I vape a lot more liquid since I got my Prodigy. And there seems to be two reasons for this - I figure that my Prodigy burns more liquid per drag, and there's no doubt in my mind that it's a helluva lot more enjoyable to drag from my Prodigy so I vape more often and more frequently.
