Sometimes, that used to happen to me after rewicking a kayfun.
Over time, I learned that it can be solved by using it "backwards": instead of taking gentle draws on the drip tip - and thus creating at least some negative pressure inside, which will lead to more liquid being drawn in - I would take gentle blows on top of the airflow hole - thus creating positive pressure, which would prevent liquid from entering.
The airflow is still there, removing all vapor thru the drip tip - only now, you are only evaporating the excess liquid inside the chamber. That liquid will not be replaced due to the positive pressure.
I used to do this in front of a mirror, so that I could tell exactly WHEN the problem was solved - when a good, voluminous cloud of vapour would appear at the drip tip, created by just the RIGHT amount of liquid inside that chamber
