Copper color batteries

Mark/Steve/Leaford how about copper colored batteries to go with the platinum? I adore copper. I know they couldn't actually BE copper. But I hope you will consider offering them. Someone on this forum did a sanding mod on the battery and it looked like copper. Stunning!

No reason it couldn't be copper tubing. My first metal prototype was copper tubing. Easy to cut, easy to machine.

Copper is tough to anodize without corroding. Can be done, but it's impractical.

Powder coating it would be more likely, but I'd probably just take the steel tube and electroplate copper on it, or powder-coat other colors. Baked enamel too.

Copper's too expensive to go around coloring it anyway. Polish and seal. Or plate something else with it.

Just my humble opinion though...

I'm just playin' (for the moment). The components that will go into the next generation of these devices are still relatively rare, so turn-around times are long. I think the future is bright for this space though. Someone's going to make a killing figuratively but be heroic literally.

Jon Solo sent me some vinal cut to fit to make a red Christmas batt. Looks so nice! That would work for us wouldn't it? The problem is the manual batts. hard to get a cut out for the button to roll on right. Oh well, I'll let ALynn put it to simmer on the back burner of her brain. Mine hurts..lol

It'll be electroplated. Best way I know of to deal with the metals you and I were speaking of.

To me it would seem easier if these 808 manufactures would do something like this. At the LED end of the 808, instead of adding a colored LED, just put an ultrabright white LED and then make different color end caps with some kind of reflective material in the plastic to make it brighter, then just sell different color end caps. Then you could change the LED color on any battery to fit your mood by just popping out the plastic cap and putting a new color in. Or maybe embed the colored LED's into the plastic cap and when you put them in they make a connection to the internal battery circuit.

Your first suggestion is doable to an extent. Your second suggestion would substantially raise the price of the device to be reliably workable.

Next new color's are Purple, and metallic yellow(Gold)which will give us 10 choices, copper will be for Springand , of course, we will love to have our family's suggestions
