Gee thanks. No, we can't have a bigger TV. The one we have works just fine and looks right where it is. A bigger one would look stoopid in that space, and there is no other place to put it. We have the bracket on the wall already, and the surround sound is wired to that spot. Mr. V will just have to live with it. Poor Mr. V. (not)
We've got a 32" on one of those articulating mounts next to the fireplace. We dont really have room for anything bigger. However, IF we were to get a large TV, there is room for it over the fireplace. I would just need to get some masonry bits/bolts to mount it.
If you have 42 vertical inches, you have enough room. Since the screens are measured diagonally, the vertical measurements are less than the advertised size. I just glanced briefly at a 60" on Amazon. Vertical height is only 33 inches.
