It only bothers me when everything is quiet and I don't have a lot on my mind. It's so weird.
 When I used to go to the Highland Games with my ex, after a day of listening to bagpipes I would still be hearing tunes in my head when we got home! I don't think I would like it all the time though...

Good morning, everybody! Paul, I missed your post last night! Take of your coast and "set a spell"! Dan, I agree with the rest of the posse that you should raise He11 if necessary and get the rest of your venison. You sure know who not to use next time.

9 hours of glorious catch-up sleep. I'm groggy, but I feel a whole lot better. Getting a ton of student emails last night and this morning about a written analysis that's due tonight by midnight. Doggoned procrastinators.

My little sis is coming over today to make "Sopa Azteca" (what tortilla soup is called in Mexico). It's a recipe she and I developed over a long, long day in her kitchen. Copious amounts of beer may or may not have been involved, but somehow didn't end up in the recipe. After that, the soup gets to simmer in the crock pot while she goes with us to the game. Then back home to eat the soup, which should be just about right by then.

There will be cooking wine. Then Happy Hour at the game. Then wine with the soup. The Indian chick will be the DD. Anyone wanna volunteer to tell her? :D

I'm not going to tell her. I value my life. Can I go along? And eat soup?

Mornin' all.

I went to bed early last night. After we got the kids in bed, Charli laid down in my lap...all 60 pounds of her... and I started reading while Mrs E watched some kind of cooking reality show that follows the same kind of format as The Voice. I promptly fell asleep. On the couch. While sitting up.

Got up this morning and I let Mrs E sleep in a bit while I fed and watered the kids. After she got up, I fired up the chainsaw and cut up several pallets to use for kindling. Turned the Christmas inflatables on to let them dry off... after the ice melts off of them. Then I can get them put away. Tried to start the lawn mower, but the battery is too dead. So Ive got the battery charger on it. I need to mow the leaves pretty badly. Besides, the kids enjoy riding with me. I also got some stuff picked up in the yard that Ive been meaning to pick up for months.

This evening, I get to play barber and hair stylist. CJ's hair is hanging over his ears, and Melanie's bangs are poking her in her eyes. Mrs E told me to shave my beard while I had everything out. BWAAAAHAHAHAHAAAA! Nope.

CJ is sitting right next to me at the moment. He thinks DanG's avi is "creepy". Drotts dogs made him say "Awwww". He asked what kind of dog Rick's was, then said "Terriers are cute." He couldnt figure out why Stretchy's avi was a chicken with a "hat" on. And he wants to bring Victor here.

Like what? It's a sm....oh yeah that one.

You can! You would be welcome. Bring your weird boom-schwati-oush stick. We have lost the last two games. Still tied for #1 in the league, but we have to break this streak.

You remember how I said it was physically painful to not eat the cookies Mrs E made a couple nights ago...? I just had one. Ok... no I didnt. I had two. And they were SO worth it. Ive got pork chops pulled out for dinner, and I think Im going to make some homestyle potatoes to go with them. Maybe something healthy too. Like green beans.

As soon as the kids finish cleaning their rooms, I think Im going to drag them outside. Im hoping those inflatables are dry enough for me to take them down. The battery charger should have put enough of a charge on the mower battery for me to get it going too.

Have fun running those errands Drott. Sounds like loads of fun.

That sounds like a wonderful evening planned, Rick. I wanna go. I won't the the DD though.

After work I picked up yet another bag of dog food. Then came home to all heck breaking loose with Alex. We're having a talk with him this weekend about the direction his life is leading to. At this point I don't see that he will be able to handle college or tech school. Which leaves his options limited in life. We want him to honestly know that if continues and doesn't try to make a change in how he handles things that a group home may be in his future. I HATE, HATE, HATE the thought of that but we can not enable him to be less that what he is capable of. As long as he is in school then he can stay here. I'm working on getting his work permit now so he can get a p/t job. We're at our wits end. /rant

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone. Going to the in-laws in a bit.
