Good morning, and happy Sunday. It's been a busy weekend so far. In between setting up my new classes (last term is over, grades posted, new term begins tomorrow), we managed to hit Target and PetSmart yesterday. The crotchety old cat was almost out of food. I dodged yet anther "let's buy Charlie clothes" bullet. I dunno what it is with the Indian chick wanting to put clothes on my dog. Perhaps Bamrz can explain it.
Well, I never had the urge to put clothes on my Lab or Rottie! But Xena is teeny, with hardly any hair on her belly. And normally she is just a hyper little ball of energy. Andy says she shakes but I say she vibrates! :) Simply putting a Tshirt on her calms her down a LOT! She doesn't jump up every time a cat walks by or I get up, unless I go into the kitchen.

So for Xena, it's not just the cute factor. It keeps her warm and calms her down a bit.

Their eggs are top notch for baking, and smoke them.
20 ducks?!? Holy Moses.... I keep meaning to ask: what do y'all do with the ducks? I know the chickens give eggs...only thing I know ducks are good for is to rub 'em with garlic salt and honey and smoke 'em on a pit. :D

You're going to be the cleanest Sallie ever when all this soap is ready to be cut!

I used to hunt a lot, and one of the things I liked to hunt was ducks. I never liked wild duck, though...too hard to cook well. Seems like it goes from underdone to tough in about a minute. I do love a domestic duck smoked on the pit, though. Out of curiosity, does anyone eat duck eggs like chicken eggs?

Shew! Finally done painting and boy was it a mess. It's been on my to do list for a few months. Glad it's finally done. I just got home from picking up Alex from his cousins. I'm tired but need to do some more stuff around here. I don't think it's gonna happen.

Poor Xena, she looks quite unhappy with you Bamrz.

Hooray for getting the room painted Tiff! Now will you come do one for me? I need to try again for paint today. *sigh*

And goon morning, happy Sunday!

In a word, no. I have more painting to do around here than I can shake a stick at. Still need to do my room, hall, kitchen, and office, plus baseboards and doors. Ugh. The thought is depressing.

Sounds like at the shack. Move this so I can move that. I'd like to gut the shack and start new.:lol:

Me too!

I can help you out with clothes for Charlie. Seriously....let the Indian Chick know.

There's an actual science behind the fact that she feels calmer in a shirt/sweater/whatever is on her. It's like compression therapy for dogs. We used to do it with weighted blankets for Alex and they even sell compression vests for kids. Mainly used for kids with sensory issues but it calms them. Don't forget those measurements.

Update on Walk for Wishes: I'm about $245 from my goal (I have $250 in checks on their way that aren't showing up yet). I set my goal at a very ambitious $1000 this year, and I really want to get there! If anyone wants to donate (this is for the Disneyland Distribution Services' Make-a-Wish Foundation Walk for Wishes team) my page is at:

Inland Empire/Orange County Make-A-Wish Foundation's Walk For Wishes

Any donation helps! Thanks, all.

Tiff, don't forget to post pics of the room when you're all done.

I will. It will be a couple of weeks still. My mom has the rest of the stuff for his room. We still have to put in the new ceiling fan and the new bedding and valance. My mom is buying him a new tv to play his games on since she spent much more on Morgan's room than his. I should've taken a before shot. It was awful!!

Afternoon folks!!!

I didnt get out of work in time to get the bike to the shop. However the owner did call me and told me a few things to try before I took it out Saturday. I think they worked. Or at least helped. It still sputters around 5k rpm, but it doest feel like its bogging down any more.

After I got home Friday I got a call from my poker buddies. They had asked me to come play with them, but I turned them down. This time, they all but begged me to come. They were short a fifth player because some one cancelled on them. I got permission to head out and played poker until about 3am. It was nearly 5am Saturday morning by the time I got home. After a few hour nap, we were on the ballfield for practice. Then it was time to hop on the bike!!! I was out for about two hours in the 75 degree weather under sunny skies. I love how the bike feels now. I love my tinted face shield too. After I got home, I ate some lunch and laid down for a quick nap that lasted until almost 7:00.

I picked up more stuff at wally world today so I could make more bread. I only got like three slices off of the last loaf. The wife and kids apparently liked it. So now, Im trying a potato bread recipe. Im also going to start a sourdough starter so I can have some sourdough next week. And apparently, I convinced a coworker to dust off his new and unused bread machine that he's had for the last two years.

 It's been changed to the dinner menu. We were both too busy at lunch time today.
OMG, Mrs Punkin just told me she threw out our brand new used only one time waffle maker because she needed the cabinet space(3 years ago)! Sorry FV, Alice can't add it to his collection.

So how was lunch?

James, your weekend sounds like more fun than mine. Hooray for the home-made bread. There's nothing like it, is there?
