Now that Ive whooped the kids... Twice... Each... I can finally sit down and type out my usual novel.
The weekend was pretty darned good. Saturday involved spending time with my brother watching the Isle of Man TT. Its an insane time trial on two wheels where guys blast through the countryside on the Isle of Man (you didnt see that coming, did you?). Each lap is like 35 miles, and they average over 120mph. And that includes the sections where they have to slow down under 45 for some hairpin turns. They go so fast, the helicopter they use for the overhead video cant keep up with them.
Father's Day involved spending the early afternoon with my dad, stepmom, and her parents and immediate family. It was quite possibly the worst spaghetti Ive ever had. How can you even think about cooking spaghetti without using garlic?!? Thankfully, I only had to endure them for an hour before I left. I went to my brother's house again. He smoked a small boston .... for dinner. While it was still in the smoke, I took CJ and my niece to the pool (Melanie and Kat stayed with my dad). Im only slighly sun burned. It'll turn into a decent base tan within a day or so. Even Mrs E came over after she got off of work.
And now the update from this morning. When the doc came in, he started looking over my x-rays and MRI's. He said he couldnt see anything that the doc that reviewed my MRI's saw, and certainly nothing that should be putting me into any pain. So he felt the need to put me through a range of motion test. Afterwards, he sat down and literally scratched his head. He could hear and feel ever time my shoulder popped and my pain profile pointed to a very specific injury. So he went back to the images and said "This MIGHT cause this... or THIS could be doing it..." Basically, he doesnt know for certain whats going on, or why its happening. So he said I had two options. One, corticosteroid injection. Or two, surgery. The surgery would involve reattaching a bicep tendon and removing any calcification (bone spurs) that may not be showing up on the imaging. Obviously, I opted for the shot first. Afterall, there's no recovery time, where even the most minor surgery would mean six weeks out of work. Now that Ive had the shot, my shoulder just aches all the time. After six weeks, I go back. If there has been no improvement, I will go in and be scheduled for an orthopedic scope. That means two holes in my shoulder. Then they schedule a surgery which will mean two more holes cut into my shoulder. OR, if there IS improvement after the first six weeks, I get another corticosteroid injection, and hope the second round does the trick completely. All I know is that right now, my shoulder hasnt hurt this badly since the original injury.
Yay on a free fix for the jeep!
Glad your back is feeling better ,Drott. Love the chair. Our sofa is that color. The seat parts are leather and the back is look a like leather. The slobber wipes off well on it. A cloth sofa would end up a disaster at my house.
I want to go shopping too. I will next Friday.

Back from the vet. It's a genetic defect and can't be fixed. We're putting Weebles down this afternoon.
Poor FV and Weebles. {{{{{{{FV}}}}}}}
