Good morning! (barely)

Baking, cooking, cleaning are on the hut list today. Yep, I am fun.

Punkin, I think one of the coffees that I roasted is better than our favorite. Granted, it's more work to grind the beans and make coffee, but it's cheaper.

Starting to get the website ready to open in the new year, I am changing it to opening on Monday the 5th. Opening on Friday seems rather stoopid.

Filling out the application. It would be easier to fill one out for adopting a kid. My chances are slim, but maybe I'll get lucky. She's deaf, she's a pit, she's at least one year old, so my chances might be a bit higher than zero.

Application done and submitted. Now we wait. I'm not holding my breath. Victor would be thrilled to have a play buddy. I would probably not have a spot in the bed anymore though. Why do dogs always stick their legs straight out when they are sleeping in the bed? Just to take up twice the space that they need to?

I've never seen a cat even like to be near a vacuum, let alone ride on it. That's hilarious!

I need to clean tanks too today. And get my bread baked. I'm moving at the speed of a slug.

Saving bread baking for tomorrow.. I'm going to finally try out the Pullman pan. Did get the biscuits, Landry and a pot of ham bean soup made though. Been lazy. Played with the chrome book a little. Good luck FV on the adoption. Hope it goes through. Set up the brooder Tue or Wed hatch I hope.

I didn't do bread either, there is still 3/4 of a loaf left from last week. I baked chocolate chip cookies instead. And watched the Packer game.

We're not very hopeful about the adoption, if/when they turn us down we decided that we'll talk to our humane society and ask them give us a call if they get a younger dog that would work for us. Before the "rescues" get there to cherry pick the new dogs. They pull the puppies, the super cute, and the well behaved before they ever make it to the humane societies web site. Maybe they will call, maybe they won't. Worst case scenario, we go back to Jake and Victors breeder and get on her waiting list. The poor critter will have to put up with crabby Jake and crazy Victor, so a new pup or a senior won't work too well. Our house must not be hairy enough.

Keeps the freezer full though.

That is does. I'm amazed at the size of these birds. They hatched at the end of July and are huge next to a Marans. Still all legs and baby feathers though. Mr. V calls them the little dinosaurs. They are really sweet, it's getting really hard not to be attached to them. *note to self, stop petting birds that will be food*
