I'm REALLY loving my bread machine. I tried an experiment at lunch time today and cut the 2lb Honey White Bread recipe I have in in half. It came out just like a regular size loaf of bread. Same shape and size. I can't picture myself buying bread at the store anymore. This is just too convenient and tastes 10x better.

I think the same thing Sallie. It's so easy to make the bread in it and it IS definitely better. Hubby told me it was just cheaper to buy it at the store. Sooo? I like it. He's such a stick in the mud lately.

So I had to find a use for something out of all this crap Mrs JD. has been bringing home. Cut down this old screen door to use on the chicken pen. I'll have to reinforce it with hardware cloth later.

That door looks great. Your entire coop/run is looking fantastic. Actually, I think you deserve a bread machine for all the work you've been doing on the chicken castle.

Dinner turned out well, but Jake refuses to look at me. Poor guy was laying in the kitchen staring at the crock pot when I got home. He's not happy that it was not for him.
I think the bread we're making is cheaper than at the store. Of course it will take me years to recoup the actual cost of the break maker.
But home made bread never goes to waste. I have yet to find a scary bread end in a bag like with the store kind. You know, the petrified one someone threw in the back of a cupboard. 
He got a HUGE serving spoonful. But he wanted more. Like all of it. He's my glutton.
You didn't give him a little spoonful in with his regular food?
OK, that was fair.
I always gave my bigger dogs a bit of what we were having in with their kibble. Xena is a bit tougher, she will get fat very fast! She only gets a bit less than 1/4 cup of her food twice a day (have to feed her when the cats get fed or she steals theirs!) so it's not hard to overdo it.
Oh, and I don't have normal cats. All the other cats I've had in my life, I could put out a bowl of dry food and they nibbled at it all day. These two would inhale it immediately, and then beg for more. Probably because there were 8 of them in their first home and they were used to scarfing down whatever they could when the food got within reach.

Okay, I take it back. Hard to feel sorry about that.
I don't have just one glutton. If anything, Simon is the best of the three when it comes to trying to steal your food while you're eating it, but he's not above the odd attempt if you're not paying attention.

Victor wanted some, but actually minds his manners. For the most part. I do believe that if I left my plate unattended he would clean it off for me. So he never gets the chance. "Guard my food, I'll be right back" is common around here. Right now Jake is sitting next to me just pitching a fit. Grumble, grumble... give me more pot roast... grumble.....
We had three cats Bamrz. Wuzzy was the prima donna, she nibbled only little bits and was so finicky. Norman would try to rip something out of your mouth, you never ate in front of him. And Mitty was happy no matter what he had. All raised together, all so very different.

Shrek stole Alex's whole hamburger this afternoon. Alex walked out of the room and left it within reach. You can't blame Shrek. It was just so tempting.
