Happy New Year everyone! I didn't do anything exciting. Hubby worked, the kids went to sleep and I fell asleep with the laptop in my lap sitting on the sofa until 5:30 this morning. I start back going to weigh in tomorrow. I dread to see what that scale says. I've been on prednisone steroid FOUR times since November. This last round I finished earlier in the week. Didn't take but about a day to start having problems again. I'm trying hard to hold out until Friday when the doctor can do a lung function test and be able to hopefully tell me what's triggering it so bad the past couple of months and give me something besides the prednisone that makes me want to eat the siding on the house. LOL

Good Morning, Rainy day in my small part of the world.

I second that. (Remember we share that small part of the world.) :)

Well, we are off to do our weekly Grrrr shopping. It should go OK today because if someone irritates us we'll just cough in their direction. Get out a Kleenex and blow our nose and then say, "Eew what am I supposed to do with this?" That should get them moving... :D

Good morning from cold and overcast hutsville. We're supposed to get freezing rain today, so it's a good day to clean the hut. Maybe I'll bake something. I don't know, being home on Monday is kinda weird. Maybe Mr. V and I will wander down the road and visit our neighbor.

I like the way you think Punkin.

Can't like the freezing rain part but I smell something baking. I think the mail person ate the last batch of stuff you sent us because it never showed up at the door.

TSC and GRrrrrrrrrrrrr store done. Giving the coffee maker its monthly cleaning, Then out to move ck feed to coop. What a fun day off.

Drott, you party animal. You can't keep burning the candle at both ends like that!

Ok....sounds like my life (except for TSC - we don't have those on the Left Coast). I worked today (even though it was a holiday). Figured a week of lazing around was enough (it wasn't). However, I banked a comp day for it, so I guess it works out. And I got caught up in the quiet of the holiday. The Christmas nuttiness is now over at the Happiest Place. I have about two weeks before the moving nuttiness starts.

FV, I can't like freezing rain even a little bit. I can definitely like the baking and neighbor-visiting, though. I made a shepherd's pie for dinner yesterday, since it's been gloomy and rainy here. Nearly perfect weather for comfort food. Perfect weather would be snow...and please don't throw things at me for missing the white stuff!

Mr. V forbids me from mailing away my baking. And said that if I do, he'll just eat it at the PO. One bad thing about him working there.

There is an eagle back on the nest in PA. He/she is eating something.

Do you have the link?

I'd throw a snowball, but the snow is a bit crispy right now, it would hurt. :D

All quiet here, Mr. V is doing brakes. Victor and I are just hanging out staying warm.

Drott, tomorrow is coop day here, it's supposed to get above freezing. Darn messy ducks will have it pigged up in a matter of hours. Or minutes. An egg or two would be a nice thank you, but lately no such luck. I don't blame them, it's COLD out there.

This is why I've never quite understood keeping ducks. Chickens are messy, but ducks...oh, my Lord. A duck rubbed with honey, sprinkled with garlic salt and on the pit is Heaven on Earth, but I can get a duck at the store, so....

I think my ducks are more fun than my chickens. They don't dig holes in the yard, don't pitch screaming fits, don't peck at each other, and have nicer eggs. They don't freak out and fly all over, and they go everywhere together in a straight line. Maybe that's where getting your ducks in a row comes from. They look like a little wave when they are in a hurry. And they are great garbage disposals.

I never thought about raising Cain...come to think of it, I've never seen ducks do that, and chickens sure can. To be fair, I've never eaten ducks' eggs. I'm going to defer to you on this one! :)

Edited to add: I'm sticking with the honey, garlic salt and smoke part, however!
