Do you know the basics on the ins and outs of ohms law?
It is kind of important to get to know the basics of battery safety.
In your op you mentioned a build using parallel 22 gage wire, wrapped 5 times. Do you know the diamater?
Just for a ballpark figure I plugged a 2mm Dia coil into the vapes toolbox calculator and guesstimated your build to be .15 ohms.
That would be a 26.67 amp draw on the battery.
That is pretty much everything a Sony vtc series battery has to offer.
A Panasonic NCR18650B battery is not suitable for your aplication in any way.
It has a 6.8A max continuous draw rating.
It is a low drain battery.
It is a hybrid chemistry battery but is much closer to ICR chemistry (which is a volatile chemistry) than a safer chemistry IMR battery.
You got lucky the Panasonic just died a peaceful death and didn't vent. That was a distinct possibility (or it is a protected version of the 18650b and shut down due to detecting a short).
Do some research here on battery safety.

Your build is extreme. You need some knowledge to back an extreme build and use it safely.
As I mentioned, there was a chance that battery could have vented violently and caused injury to you or someone around you. You got lucky.
