Corded usb mini passthrus

so I am wondering about peoples opinions of these litle devices...

5 presses advances you to each voltage level and lights the appropriate led light:
1. Blue (3.2v),
2. Purple (3.7v)
3. Red (4.2v)
4. Green (4.7v) (not all computer USB ports can output this value)

MAKE SURE YOUR POWER SUPPLY IS RATED FOR 2 amp output (2000 mAh).
Phone chargers and e-cigbattery charger outlets do NOT provide sufficient amperage for the device
Not for use with low resistance cartomizers, please use 2.0 and above.
The high power consumption of the this passthrough may damage USB ports on mostcomputers.





so it has some stated restrictions, but once understood, it would be a great unit
at your favorite chair or in the car, even in the office...
so does anybody have any stories about these cute little mini passthroughs !

I like it. I want one as a backup!

But....note the comment about the cord.
And get a wall wart. Don't put it on a computer (there's no battery in it, it's a high-amp draw).

From my experience with cheap pass-throughs (and this one looks pretty cheap), they use inferior wire and inferior buttons that just don't hold up. When they were popular several years ago, there were scores of threads about PT's falling apart after about 2 weeks of use.

But for $15, I wouldn't expect one to last too long. But as the description stated, do not plug it into your laptop. I would get a 5 volt/2 amp USB to AC adapter if I was to ever use one again.

That's neat. I wish they had one with 808 threading.

Definitely use a wall-wart, 2A or higher current rating.

That's a good supplier who always describes the pros and cons of the products he sells. Read his note about the durability of the device, especially in light of WV's note of caution.

I've bought a lot of stuff from DV and I've never been steered wrong.

it is just that, a high power out put device not really suited for a laptop
I don't like to (and don't) plug anything like this into my laptop
he stated he ran over the cord with office chair

and as a back up, I am thinking Main Source, then using battery as back up and mobile...

you would have to get matching components to make it work properly...

I have one of these pass-throughs from Fasttech that I got for about $7 and it works fine. I use it with an AC/USB adapter while my other batteries are charging and have had no real issues with it.

Very cool. I had been using an 808 passthrough with a high-current wall wart but I put it aside because it was literally passing through the full output of the USB port (approx. 5V), too hot for certain juice/atomizer combinations. I thought of hacking into the cable and installing a little switch with high-current diodes to drop the voltage in 0.6V increments, or even using a 3-terminal voltage regulator, but this variable passthrough is a more elegant solution.

I just got the VV pass-through from Litecig along with a 510-to-808 thread adaptor (all my clearos are 808 threaded). It works a treat! Sometime I'll measure the output voltage under load to see how accurate the settings are, but my initial impression of this device is good.

The one I bought is black and the nominal output voltages are:
3.0V (Blue)
3.6V (Purple)
4.2V (Green)
4.8V (Red)

i have 1 i use at work in a extended usb port with a plug in external power source so no need to use the computer
