Cost of FDA approval and a way to bypass it for mod makers ???

If the new FDA regulations everyone is talking about regarding the cost of registering every new things you want to sell to the vaping community comes in effect.

Would it be possible for the Mod makers to just add a LED light with a 510 connector to the end of the mod and sell it as a flashlight instead of a vaping device ???. Would be nice for the vapers and also would make a Terrific flashlights ;-).

Just sharing my thoughts.

Why not. They raised the loose cigarette tobacco tax from $2.50/lb to $25.00/lb (approximation) because of the money they were losing to RYO. So the RYO producers relabeled it as 'pipe tobacco'. Even though a pipe smoker wouldn't classify it as such, it stymied the intent of the law. Sometimes a Byzantine bureaucracy is good for us!

They included the regulation of devices to scare us. They know they can't regulate mods, but will give in on it so they can say they are being flexible. They give us no regulation on mods, but will want us to be flexible on something else. I see the final regulations as being a give and take negotiation. If you give us this we will give you that.

So far, I have 6 EPW's, and plan on more... I have lots of loose papers that need weighing down.

Personally I think even e juice will be hard to regulate, it's the nicotine itself that will be heavily regulated. Put it this way, I can go to a bakery store, Walmart or some other store and buy all the ingredients to make an e juice, other than the nicotine. E-liquid companies can still make e juice with zero nicotine, and sell it as something other than the label as "E-Liquid" or "E-Juice", but sell it with label such as "Juice Flavors". The flavors, PG, VG all already FDA approved, and anyone can make it without nicotine. Nicotine can then be bought from a separate supplier.

Mods and equipment will be super hard to regulate, especially with so many DIY out there.

Could just sell the nicotine separate from the pg/vg and flavored juice. Sell the flavored juice as car air freshener.
Then you don't need an app for anything but the nicotine..

While they mention it, I do not see them actually being able to regulate devices. How long have other devices for smoking other things been available and more or less unregulated? How can they regulate a tube, a lithium ion battery, wires, etc.... All of these items can be used for other things. Resistance wire, cotton, silica.... All used for other things as well.

It's why i can't stand air freshener today.

let alone getting misted by it walking past it when it goes off..

they need to be like 1 or twice a day at most.. every 30 minutes is a lot of freshener..

I think 0mg eliquid closely resembles Mio water enhancer as they call it. The ingredients are almost the same. So I hope I can still get my favorite companies "water enhancer" in the future. If not I guess the flavoring companies just got my business. As far a nicotine goes there is a crude way of making low mg nic liquid from organic tobacco that will serve my purposes if needed. Although, I really don't want to use a tobacco product anymore. I think with taxes and all that they have planned since it's all about the money we will be paying more for the "legal" version of our nic liquids. When have you ever seen the government pass on a money maker.

I guess I would be way too naive to into politics or be in law. This loophole business bothers the out of me.
