Speaking of cotton wick ... I have a question:

Some of these 'micro-coil' builds that are now being made on thin needles have coils with such a small inside diameter that only a very narrow piece of cotton can be used ... just because the hole is so small in the micro-coil.

Do you think that this may be causing some problems with wicking enough juice into the coil?

I am just saying that you can make these coils so small in diameter, you just can't hardly get any wick material in them, which don't seem like a very good idea.

tomorrow i plan on building a nano coil around the thinnest sewing needle i could find... instead of threading the cotton, i plan to wrap the cotton outside of the coil... though i may try in a bed of cotton... anyone care to share which they think will work better?

both ways work great when you have it set up right, if you wrap the cotton around your coil have it so one end of the coil is blocked(totally covered) by cotton and the other end just sticks out maybe 1/2 a mm, the coil side you can see you can face towards the air hole but don't wrap the cotton so it flaps about when you fire up the coil but not so firm the cotton doesn't wick

doing the cotton cloud I have the coil on an angle(diagonal) with half pushed into the cotton and half sticking out

Hows this look? first time trying this... nice small nano, .756 ohms... it reaches t oabout the back of rm2...

more importantly hows it vape!? :) .. haha your camera focused on the corner of your reo ... once you have it vaping well they vape vnice but any slight alteration completely changes

even 32g wrapped nano to about 1ohm just sat on top of cotton without any cotton over the top of coil will give a good cloud and its harder to flood then one with cotton surrounding the coil.. I cant remember exactly right now but I think about 5 or 6 wraps on 1/2mm id of 32g :D just don't dry burn it to much

I agree on everything above

what I found is if you have to much wick inside your coil it will taste the same from the time you start vaping that wick till the time just before it runs dry of juice, it'll be tight. But if you've wicked it correctly I found that right before it runs dry the vapour increases, yeah I know it sounds funny but go test it ;) its like when you overflood you get hardly any response but as it drys ..
I will also run tails from either side of the coil the same thickness as the cotton inside the coil and not any thicker, and just run one down by the front of the coil and one around the back making a s shape :)

i prefer single in trident, i wish i could take a pic for you but i broke the terminals so its in the garbage now, dam clone lol

I know exactly what you mean. Just before it's time to redrip I can tell by the increase in vapor.

i love the way it vapes... havent had a dry hit, then again i am paranoid about having dry hits... burnt cotton is horrid... but it can get more than 3 vapes out of a squonk... there is not the amount of vapor that i have seen from similar ohm nanos... however the flavor... my god... it is other worldly... still produces good vapor... but honestly i expected more... the flavor however, i cant explain how much better it is compared to the 1 ohm micro i was using... i cant even explain it... but its so much more present, and powerful that it lingers, pleasantly for longer

what wire is it you are using in your pic? and how many wraps... I cant see whats going on hehe it looks like you have a Clapton or tiger coil going on... it's good to have a change of coil setup to get different flavours and notes to come out, Ive even been using open coils lately

so i used triple twisted 30, i forget how many wraps, it was fairly plenty... coil goes from almost the back of the rm2 to where you see it in the pic... idk, i was getting irritated and frustrated during the process, was getting pissy, irritable and just wanted to get it set up...

I wrap super small ID coils (ignoring the micro-nano designation, nobody agrees what it means anyway ;) ) on a paperclip. It's a little thinner than a standard syringe tip, and it wicks fine if I keep the resistance around 1 ohm. Much lower and it just flash-vaporizes the entire wick dry pretty quickly. I think that's why so many people are using cotton beds under the coil with higher powered sub-1/16th coils, I just go up to a 1/16th bit if I'm making coils under 1 ohm.
