Do you have to boil untreated raw cotton? Besides bugs (coil = bug zapper) should be fine to vape right?

I bet my Cats would Luv that table too.

unless i knew the growers and their methods (traditional or organic) and the growers of any nearby fields where aerial spraying may have drifted on it. i would NOT use cotton that was unprocessed. the pesticides and herbicides used on cotton field are so strong that measurable amounts can remain in soil up to 10 years. it costs me about a penny to rewick every day with certified organic cotton at Walgreens . i can live with that.

you're missing the point.......poster is just trying to have a little fun. He wasn't inferring that he was going to use it for wick. Only that "holy crap" I use cotton to wick and a table to build........ This is perfect! Lol. Unless I missed the mark entirely. If so, I apologize.
Either way, still made me chuckle.
Thanks for that!
Sometimes being a smart ... is just that and only that.
My philosophy has always been, as long as its funny, it's worth it.
Now, a lot of people have disagreed with me over the years. Especially employers, lol.
Grandpa always said "[MODERATED] them if they can't take a joke, and joke them if they can't take a [MODERATED]!"
Words I live by!
Maybe that's why I still have a menial, low paying job?!?
Oh, well. At least I'm still having fun!

Grandpa died as he lived........ wishing he was funnier! Lol.

That would be me. Lots of it grown around here on tribal land. Not sure what they fertilize it with. They do aerial spraying of it and nearby alfalfa. I'm a city boy. It looks like after it flowers and bolls they stop watering it and it dies and pops the bolls.

So you are saying I shouldn't grab a fluff of the plant or pick up any of the harvest that gets left around?

Now I completely understand 2naphish.
On a serious note. No, picking raw cotton out of the field to use as wick would be a a very bad idea. It is full of pesticides and chemicals from the growing process.
Might as well smoke analogs.
It is not safe, and I would not recommend it.
I have cleaned dusters as a summer job, and we were required to wear chemical suits when cleaning and filling them. Imagine what you will be inhaling.

Just stop one of the farmers, ask him or try the Tribal office. We used to get hay down there at the Papago rez when I was a kid and I doubt they'd be spraying something toxic so close to the alfalfa fields.
