What wicks better in a Kayfun? Cotton or Silica? How many wraps? What gauge wire?
>I've used both, and prefer cotton in a KF type atty. A simple wick, about 1" long, through a coil wrapped so that it's at the 10/4 clock position... it should be rolled so that the wick pulls through the coil with a light drag.
>Most folks end up at around 1.2Ω+/-0.4Ω with a KF or Russian. You may need to go deep sub-ohm with some juices, but most taste fine at the resistance I've listed.
>Although I've used everything from 24 to 30 gauge - I use 27 & 28 gauge wire more often than not... depends on what resistance I need.
>If you click on my sig line, it will lead you to a coil build calculator that obsoletes most all spreadsheets and lists... other than to tell you what others are using.

I tried the whole micro coil thing and didn't like it. 10-12 wraps with 28 gauge were metering out to about 1.4 ohms. I wasn't getting enough of a "hit." I was also having a problem with dry hits when I took my resistance down to .67ish. Seemed like the cotton couldn't keep up with my vaping style. I just wrapped a 6/7 28 gauge coil around a 5/64" drill bit. It ohmed out to 0.9. Hopefully that'll work for me.

I can not get that calculator to work at all
It just doesn't even update when I change the wire material or metric to imperial units
Looks interesting though
Bookmarked it any way, hopefully it will work for me in the future
