Cotton Wicks Making Me Sick?

Remember to keep the wicks wet

Sorry, but I have a dozen mods running cotton or Cell-u-cotton and have NEVER seen this.

Cotton will NOT fleck like Fiberglass(silica wicks)
Cotton is also a liquid leech. It will hold liquid at its max capacity as much as possible.

Overheating Cotton will decompose it.

I have been using eVods for 1 1/2 years. I make basic open coils using 30ga wire on a 1/16" drill bit.My target is 1.5-2.0 ohms. I use just basic organic cotton balls for wick. (I've only used 2 cotton balls in 6 months.) I have never noticed any cotton flakes.

If you want to use silica, I believe that the evod uses 2mm silica. If you use 5/64" drill bit...thats 1.98mm. You can thread 2mm silica if you use something like fingernail polish to make a point on one end. Cut it off of course. Then take a single strand or 2 for flavor wicks.

I cheat I get my precoiled coils from fasttech. I get the 1.8ohm with the 4 silica wicks and they work perfectly in my protank/evod coils.

How long does it take for these things to show up? I ordered them the day you posted this and they still haven't shown up.

One time I made the mistake of just ordering them without adding anything else to bring the price up. It took right at a month for them to get here.

And I didn't get a tracking number so had no idea as to where they were.

I'd suggest that if you are really considering ordering pre-wicked coils from FT that you throw a Kayfun 3.1 or Kayfun lite on the order. I like you have cleaned and rebuilt PT/Evod heads with varying levels of success. Finally broke down and tried a KF 3.1 from FT. Haven't used a Protank in over a year. I'm up to 8 Kayfun 3.1's now. Much easier to build and maintain than a PT/Evod.

Thanks for this! They're same price as that Asian site. I won't be ordering from Asia again.
