Yes I remember coughing at first. Went away pretty quick. I personally seem to get a bit of heaviness in my chest if I use juice that is high in vg. So that is why I prefer 50/50. And of course you have been sick also. That might have a little bit to do with it. Hope you are feeling better.

Yeah true.... Never thought about that... I thought it might be a pg allergy....

Even though I was a nearly 4 pack a day smoker, I had coughing fits when I first started vaping. I started at 24mg nic and had to do small inhales and slowly worked my way up to full inhales. Every single person I've ever let try my vape has nearly coughed up a lung, including heavy smokers like myself. You'll get used to it before you know it.

It'll pass. I smoked a pack a day and tried the gas station nicotine free cigalikes and was okay. But I coughed up my ....ing lungs when I got my evod starter kit. It'll pass.
On a side note, the cigalike's sucked flavor wise. Except for the coffee one. That one tasted amazing. I wish I could find that flavor for actual ejuice lol.

Slowly getting used to the coughing thing but idk if it is my tank or just need a new flavor..... I am smoking cuttwood unicorn milk. Everyone says it is their favorite but I don't think I like it since the flavor is so light. I want a nice bold root beer flavor I think that might do the trick or a nice creamy coffee.

You have to remember that your lungs are used to a hot, dry smoke. Vaping is cool to warm (most of the time) and moist. I compare it to a smoker going into a steam room. When you first walk in you start coughing because your lungs are assaulted by all the moisture (and they think you are drowning). When I made my switch, I was using an ego twist with a CE4 class tank. I kept the voltage low so the production of vapor was very light and slowly increased it as I got more and more used to it.

I didn't see if you mentioned if you are still smoking any cigs at all. Sometimes dual smoking and vaping will really irritate the throat and cause a lot of coughing. It does take a transition time as well as finding the right vg/pg ratio and nic levels for you. AND wattage setting! It is a learning process that can get a bit frustrating, but once you find your swerve it is well worth it. Hang in there and keep experimenting to find what works for you.

Good to hear this. I started with 100%VG and had that heavy feeling in my chest. Switched to some PG and until I read this I realize the heavy feeling is gone.

Hi, as usual sorry for my bad english

i realise, that you english speaker are really really really high in nicotine than us in france, i was a "heavy" smoker here( 30cigarettes/day). I began with 12mg/ml i and switch really quick to 6 because my french throat need it.reaaly quick.

I realise than nicotine is way more important for the hit, than the rate of pg/vg and the hot or not smoke. (nicotine > hotness > Pg/VG).

Take two juice one with low nic for everyday, and one reaaly fresh with really high nic (freshness like halo subzero hide the nicotine rate for your throat).

And yes you need to have an adaptation time, it's not the same hit than the cigarette, i took 5-7days myself to adapt at this form of hit on my throat.

Have a good day =D

Based on my experience, I would say it is because your lungs have been ripped on by smoking. That's why most people claim it takes a few days of solely vaping to get used to it. I think it's really more that it takes that long for some of the damage to heal--at least, that's how it's working for me after 30 years of 1.5 PAD smoking. After a few days of very few smokes (between 3-5 a day) and a lot of Albuterol, I reached the point where I was able to vape my Nautilus Mini at 5V without coughing at all. More recently, I decided to go for the Atlantis on the Aspire Sub-Ohm battery, and that thing just sets me off, as though I put a blow torch to my lungs. At this point, I am unsure how I'm going to get used that thing, but I can still use the Nautilus just fine.
