I got my kit today and so did my neighbour. I got a Canadian blend e juice 18 nic and she got Du Maria and Players Light both at 16 nic. We both ordered from to different places. I didn't care for my e juice so i tried both of hers. Even at the 16 nic it was a wee bit of a coughing spell unless i took short hauls.

This evening i have a sore throat. I am taking a break from the e cig for a bit and smoked 1 1/2 analogs. Now my throat feels better not coughing as much.

Do you think it is the nic strengths or the PG. I am not sure if my friends juice has PG in it. She got it from canadavapes.com and i don't see on the website what they include in their e juices.

If it is PG that is making me cough so much would i have a phlegm with this cough? I can't see it being my lungs clearing out as of a few hours off analogs.

Dont write off the fact that your lungs will start to clear out that soon.
Beginner vapers will go through many "symptoms".
Sore throat, raw roof of the mouth, coughing up "crap", headaches if you over do it, and many others.
Your body will heal quickly, but ease into it at your own pace, and drink plenty of water.
Thats the best advice I ever received. drink plenty of water..

Some people have reactions to PG, some to VG. Most while having preferences to one or the other or the percentage of either in what they like to vape have no reaction to either, contact the vendor and see what the mix is. Once You have this info You may be able to figure out if You do react to either.

Some vendors allow u to create the amounts of PG/VG some only use certain percentages, ie: 70pg 30 VG. Also try not using ecigs like a cigarette, try soft longer pulls, let sit in mouth for a sec then inhale, if u wish to inhale.

The vendor u acquired your juice from should have on their website the proportions listed, I haven't seen one yet that doesn't. GL and please try to stick with it, Congrats on this new journey.

Yes buy smaller samples.

I coughed so bad with the 100% PG juice that came with my kit that I thought I was sensitive to PG. I bought some 100% VG juice, used it for a week or so, the whole time not happy with the lack of throat hit. On a whim, I tried the PG juice again, and this time, no coughing at all. I think I just needed time to recover from the chronic irritation analogs caused. I usually vape 70PG/30VG now.

This could be a symptom of smoking cessation or a severe reduction in smoking. Some people who quit have a cough for up to several weeks before it goes away. For some long-time smokers cilia in the respiratory tract has been damaged or destroyed. These tiny hair-like cells remove contaminates and mucus from the lungs. If the cilia are destroyed ex-smokers may have to live with a cough for the rest of their lives. It's the only way they can clear their lungs.

PG allergy could be an issue. So could be a cold you happened to catch at just the right time. The mind can also play tricks on people who quit smoking by making them cough until they get another tobacco fix.

Hang in there. If problems persist see a doctor and don't rely on free unqualified medical advice on message boards from people like me.

Does it hurt when you inhale? Vaping should not make your throat hurt that bad. You do not mention what delivery system you're using, whether it's a clearomizer or a cartomizer. Clearomizers should wick your juice well otherwise you're getting dry hits. Cartomizers need to be filled completely when you first fill them and then keep them topped off as you vape.

Sometimes it's just a matter of learning how to use your equipment, youtube has all kinds of videos on how to fill your delivery system. Good luck!

Before trying to determine if you have a sensitivity in the juice it would be a good idea to make sure you are drawing on your PV properly. A PV is not a cigarette and using one is different. Drawing from the lungs like one would from a cigarette is not recomended--it doesn't allow the coil time to get warm enough to properly vaporize the juice meaning you won't have as good an amount of vapor.

How I draw, and it works well for me, is to gently suck the vapor from the PV with my mouth and then hold it for a moment, usually around four or five seconds before inhaling and then exhaling from the nose.

The vapor hits your throat different then actual smoke does also. Think of it like learning how to smoke again. My first vape almost made me puke cuz I hit it wrong.

After a couple weeks I was coughing up mad phlegm and I think it was all the crap in my lungs I was holding back. Now I feel better, breathe better and the stuff stopped coming up (mostly) but for a while it was gross. My lungs held all that junk was all I kept thinking.

Edit I go 70vg/30 pg for the record.

I coughed so much crap up and coughed so bad I thought I was going to cough up a lung. The links posted above are great. Keep at it you will feel better soon. It lasted 2 or 3 weeks for me 30years of cigs. I'm lucky my daughter is an RT so I had someone to answer all my questions. I thought about going to see my Dr. but she told me I would be ok. The crap I coughed up scared the hell out of me.

first day I had a raw throat and could hardly take a pull of my ecig. googled/youtubed what i could find and tried drinking a couple glasses of water, which i don't normally do, usually coffee or beer lol, and the water helped within minutes. I keep a glass or bottle of water by me all the time now, especially when i'm niccing out and chain vaping, otherwise i start to feel the rawness come. The info I found was the pg will dehydrate your mouth on some people, causing a raw feeling, which was exactly what i had.
