2 more questions then the next you hear from me will be a photo of my REO :)

1) should I clean it before using it? if so am I screwed I didn't get any noalax yet?
2) I generally vape 18mg as I'm only a month into vaping. I do have some 12mg on hand as well. I know a lot of people can't handle as much nic in their drippers as they can in tanks. Since I'm used to 18mg, do you think the 12 will be vapable for me?

Sorry I lied, 3rd question lol

3) these AW IMR 1600mah batteries, do they have to be charged from dead to full, or can they be charged before they die? ie - can I keep a battery charging in my car charger while driving, even though the car will turn on and off and so the power to the charger won't be constant?

Thanks! much love :)

1) so I can and should clean all parts of the REO - basically the entire thing, RM2 included should be soaked in warm water and dried before use, cool. sage advice
2) I plan to use the same coil I've been using (not literally of course but the same build)
3) so in other words it's not only ok but a good idea to charge the batteries on and off as I feel like it? awesome. REO sounds better and better

1) I would just clean the Rm2 and maybe the bottle. If you're not sub-ohming then the Reo will be fine until you can get some Noalox.

2) I vaped 18mg when I got my first Reo and continued to vape 18mg for several months before I randomly decided to drop to 12mg. If you've got some 12mg on hand I'd start with that because we tend to go overboard a bit when receiving our first Reo.

3) I wouldn't recommend charging in the car unless it's a last resort, but that's just me. If you've got two Aw 1600's that should be more than enough to get you through a day of heavy vaping.

I don't plan to sub ohm, not any time soon for sure. My coils are aimed at 1.2 - 1.4 ohms. Sometimes I go a tad bit higher but prefer it right around there.

Doogie, out of curiosity, how come you don't advise charging in the car? I just want to be sure I don't do anything bad for the batteries or the REO.

The cleaning advice is sound, though I've never cleaned one before using it the first time. I'm lazy like that...and my lips haven't fallen off so ....so far so good.

I think it would be a good idea to have that 12mg on standyby....these tend to up the delivery, so you may find the 18mg to be a bit strong at first. But there's no harm in trying.

Don't use the batteries until they die. You will notice a drop in performance when it gets to about 3.5-3.7v. At that point, pull the battery and put a fresh one in. If you want to learn more about where your prime vaping is at, I would keep track using a multimeter for a while until you get the hang of it. I always recommend keeping a multimeter on hand for trouble shooting. Batteries and chargers, coils and gaskets can fail...and it's helpful in pinpointing where the trouble is. Oh...and NEVER leave a battery in the charger. Its just not a good habit to get into regardless of whether the charger is connected to power or not.

I thought you don't use noalox on the new units that are out there? I swear I thought I read that the ones with the new contacts don't need noalox. As for me, I have the newer reos and have never needed to use noalox. You might message rob before you go putting that on. But, no - you don't need to use it before first use for sure!

As for me, I ran the rm2 good through some soap and hot water and was on my way. I rinsed the bottles out and then shook them to get excess water off. It's not the same type of "cleaning" you need to do on the kayfun clones that were made in china. What I'm getting at...don't spend hours letting it soak like you would on the stuff that comes from china. :)

I'm just cautious with my batteries and don't like the idea of fluctuating power, randomly stopping and starting a charge cycle, excess heat inside the car, the charger jostling around with other junk in the car, etc.

In my mind it just increases the chances that something will go wrong with the charger or batts. I may just be overly cautious but I'd rather just charge my batteries when I get home rather than toting them around daily.

I'll agree here but also, I"ve never needed to? Did you get a mini or a grand? My grand lasts me all day on one charge. I still carry an extra battery with me, but typically don't ever need it.

Sage advice for sure, I'll only plan to use the car charger if really needed or on a long road trip. I doubt I'll have a need either. I do kill an MVP2 battery in a days time so it will probably take the better part of 2 batteries to last a day, but that's perfect actually cause I ordered 4. 2 full on stand by, 2 to be charged :)

If you're going to carry around spare batteries I'd recommend getting a cheap battery box. You don't want to have loose batteries in your pocket or bag because if metal ( change, keys, etc) touches the + & - terminals the battery will hard short.

You might look into some Sony Vtc5 batteries too, they last a good deal longer than the Aw's.

Good advice you've gotten, but let me just add/clarify.

Noalox: My understanding is that Robert no longer ships it with a REO. With the new contacts, there's really no need (except maybe super low sub ohm builds).

Batteries: I'm a "medium" vaper, neither light, nor heavy (I was a 2 PAD smoker). The AW IMR 18650 (1600 mAH) last me easily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, at which point they are down to around 3.9 volts. You'll find that below that number the vapor quality drops off anyway, so it's a good safe point to put in a fresh battery. I've recently begun using the Sony VTC5 (2600 mAH), and (given at least 5 hours of sleep), easily last me a full 24 hours per battery.

Charger: A good charger will recharge either of the above in a very short period of time (from 3.7 to 3.9 ish starting point) up to their full 4.2 volts. Maybe an hour, or hour and a half, tops. Recharge when you have that much time to watch them, you should never leave batteries charging unattended, because, well, "things" happen.

Battery box/case: If you're hiking or backpacking, absolutely get a good battery case for the ones you're not using. Batteries running wild in your backpack is not fun. Entertaining, but not fun.

Recharging: If you have to, take a battery tester with you, you definitely don't want to discharge them below about 3.5 volts, although the specs say 2.5 (I think). Even at 3.5 volts, you'll get a weak vape from them. Take care of your batts and they'll take care of you.

It's not rocket surgery, just a good idea to get into good habits with your batteries, and you'll be golden....and wishing you had gotten a REO sooner :) What color have you picked for your 2nd one? :)

haha thanks so much AP!!

I may not get a battery tester - would that be foolish? The thing is my total preference when batteries start losing their voltage (like my old kGo batteries) is to just swap it for a fresh one. I've always noticed when the vapor and quality diminish on the kGos and just swapped batteries. So knowing it's best to not discharge them I'll probably be even more cautious about it and aware of it. All that said, foolish?

I'll scour around for a battery box ASAP...definitely need that as I tend to hike each week on my days off. I also vape less while hiking though, but still a lot. Also these Sony batteries do sound freaking awesome.

With a mech mod it's pretty much a necessity to pick up a digital multimeter so that you can check your builds resistance, test for shorts, and check your batteries voltage. I'd highly recommend getting one if you don't have one already.

Here's the battery case that I bought for outdoor use. It fits 2 18650's and is supposedly waterproof tho I've never really put it to the test.

if it's actually necessary for batteries, truly necessary, I'd get it--not for resistance though. my current mod can be my resistance checker :)

thanks for the link to the battery case. I'll buy it! especially if it says waterproof. EDIT - bought it, thanks so much!
