Hey guys just got my Pilot M401, charged the battery and started vaping. I just have a couple of questions.

To start off with i was getting juice in my mouth and the ecig was making a lot of noise, after reading on here i think i may have been sucking too hard so ill try and just suck slower.

My main question though after a few puffs i have a strange throat feeling i can't explain it. Almost like a sore throat but not sore no pain, almost feels like something in my throat but not. I really can not explain it, do you get a feeling like that when you smoke e-cigs?

I also slipped when i took the blank cap off the atomizer and put a very slight dent in the what looks like steel wool arch thing in the atomiser. I dont think it has done damage but i do not know for sure as i have nothing to compare it against.

Id also like to know if it is anything to worry about when you get some juice on your tongue, i also get a sweet taste when i lick my lips after is this normal?

Sorry if these are silly questions.

Cheers Lee.

You are either drawing in too hard or if your topping off the cart, you're putting too much e-liquid.
As for the throat, I haven't noticed that, but mine does get dry. Drinks lots of water.
as for juice on your lips, I think it has happened to everyone. Too much could make you ill. I try to wipe it off

happy vaping!

Cheers! I have found that by forcing myself to suck much more slowly i do not get the problem :) I tend to really cane my real cigs, normally smoking them in 6 or 7 drags, this is not the way to use an e-cig lol :D

Edit - Also when you pull slower it does not make hardly any noise, so if i can only just hear it then i know i am about right and not pulling too hard :)

Hello Boomer,

After purchasing and vaping on a bunch of different e-cig models, I have noticed one thing in common with all of them - They all taste a little weird at first.

This is because of the coating that manufacturers put on their atomizers so they don't get to you completely and not break the second you take a drag. For me, this went away relatively quickly with my pilot, and after an hour or so I was only tasting the e-juice that I used.

As for the throat sensation you are having - It is probably because - A) Your throat/lungs are not used to e-cig vapor yet B) You might be using too much nicotine, more than your body is used to. C) You might be allergic to PG.

A and B will go away with time, although I do recommend stepping down a level or 2 if it is infact B, but in the rare case that it's C, than you just need to switch to a Non-PG formula which uses VG (Vegetable Glycerin) as the main ingredient, or make your own non-pg concoctions.

Also, keep in mind that if you are using more nicotine than your body is used to (which you probably are if you are vaping on 24mg +) than you will likely get sick, nausea, headache, sore muscles and/or throat. This will go away in a few days as your body gets used to the new dosage of nicotine, but I would personally advise not putting yourself through that and getting even more addicted to nicotine and just vape on lower strength stuff.

As far as leaking carts go.. The Pilot is a lot more forgiving in that respect than say.. The Npro which is a model RN 4081 e-cig. Those things are verrrry leaky.. But the best thing you can do to make sure your cart doesn't leak is not use more than 2 drops when you are topping off, and not use more than 2 drops when dripping. Also, the liquid in your cart lasts longer than in your atomizer, so don't top off as frequently as you drip.

Hope that helps!

Well i have another problem lol. One battery works great no problem now i got the hang of it but the other battery just wont wake up unless i suck really hard just to get the light on, its as if the battery is not sensitive enough?

One battery great and one seems a dud, any ideas with things to try with it or should i contact the supplier?

Cheers Lee.

I've found gargling w/ mouthwash the only way I can get my throat to stop hurting. Glad to hear I'm not the only one.

Boomer,

I, too, ordered the 401 as my first e-cig. It does take some practice to get the drag just right w/o ingesting the juice. Believe me when I say that I got plenty of juice on my lips and in my mouth before I got the hang of it and I'm still here to type about it. :)

I didn't get the sore throat, but I have a drink with me all the time (usually iced tea or soda). Others have posted that they had the sore throat too, so this is a "normal" side effect. Some have stated that it's the PG from the liquid coating the back of your throat. Some have reported mouth sores from getting the liquid on their lips or in their mouth. This link: A List of Common Symptoms When E-Smoking is very helpful in identifying side effects of vaping.

I had this same thing happen with mine - while I was driving down the highway - with the battery fresh off the charger. I took off the atomizer and tapped the battery a few times on my steering wheel. I woke up and has been working fine ever since.

One thing to note about the 401 is that it will fire up on it's own when exposed to wind, eg. while driving in your car with the window down. Left unnoticed, it might burn out your atomizer and/or battery. Try blowing on the LED and you'll see what I mean. Cupping your hand over the end while driving should alleviate this. Cheers Guys, just a little update im getting on with my 401 much much better now and really starting to enjoy the benefits of it, don't have a problem with sore throat just a slight feeling but used to it now and it's all good :)

Nothing i did to try and get the battery to work did anything but i ordered another kit so i have 3 working batterys and im waiting to get the 4th one replaced so as soon as that is sorted i will have 4 working batterys that is one more than i need to vape all day.

BTW since i have started to suck really slowly the 401 works perfect with no juice in my mouth, so you guys were right!

Current thoughts is i made a good choice and im happy to be a vaper rather than a smoker :D

Cheers Guys Lee.

P.S I do have a new problem now and thats how do i put the thing down lol
