Couple Questions RDA/TC

Hey i bought a smok g priv and some ss 316l to try out tc mode. Iv never tried tc before so i did like 8 wraps of 26awg spaced coils. The thing is when i try tc mode i seem to have couple issues.

One it seems to get super hot even at like 300f and it actually never reaches the the temps i set it at ? all the videos i watch they go to vape and it goes to the temps that they set it at. Mines stay around 140 160 or 200f? The tcr is at 105 iv tried 92 as iv seen some websites/videos say thats what to use for ss316l but still does not fix anything the only thing i did do that made it reach the temps was to adjust ohms and lower it quite alot? I have no clue whats wrong with it:?

i also just tried to see if the cotton would burn with tc on and it did just started to burn and catch on fire lol


Also iv not bought a new rda for a while now and thinking about buying a new one im a flavour chaser. Right now im just using a derringer but i want something new. Im unsure what to get so yeah im looking for something that is all about the flavour.

Hi Gothic. What kind of build and what's the resistance?

the build is just a single coil 26awg 0.40mm ss 316l spaced resistances says 0.60

What is the wattage setting you're using with the temp control? It will have an effect of how fast your coil heats. Also, are you sure your temps are in F and not C? Both can be displayed, so it's possible to miss that, in which case 300C will be very hot. Your build is certainly a good choice and should not be demanding for TC.

ah well i tried 100c also lowest it will go and it still just gets super hot but the temps does not say it reaches 100c says around 50 60c and i had the watts around 60

OK, so that's no good. Do you have another atty you could throw on to try? Just to see if it's the topper or the mod. Oh, one other question, does that rda work fine in watt mode with that build on it? Another one other question, have you tried locking the resistance in after getting a stable cold resistance reading?

So you are using the variable tcr.
Have you tried it set to just ss temp, and was it the same result?

yeah i when i first got it i tried it all on default but with ss selected thats when i noticed the issues but seems whatever i do it still has the same problems what sucks :S

I have g-priv & haven't put any updates on it yet. In ss tc default setting worked well for me w/ simple Clapton dual coils in goon clone. I usually build 7wraps on a 3 rod. When I put 3 core fused claptons on it mod got finicky. Did rest & worked until I set down for day or 2. Tried resetting tcr & didn't seem to help. Have never tried single coil. I did always have to run watts higher than in power mode for same build. Run temp 380 - 420.
