I just remembered a funny story:

Does anyone remember back when clones were, I guess, not quite as acceptable?
A company named Footoon developed the Aqua rta. It was really nice and somewhere around $200 I think. It got cloned and Footoon got mad. So, they "leaked" pics of their new V2 Aqua. Maybe it was a V3....I can't remember. Anyway, it looked the part. But, there were no wicking holes, no wire holes, no airflow , no positive post and no way to fill it. It was cloned and for sale inside of 48 hours. I thought it was brilliant. I always wished I liked their products as much as I liked the way they thought! Unfortunately, I never liked their products.
I don't know what spurred the memory, but I laughed all over again.

I remember that haha,it wasn't all that long ago,maybe a year or so back.I remember reading the discussions on Ft about it,several people trying to figure out how to use it haha.

I think it was longer than that....I figured 2 to 3 years ago. But, the 80's took a toll on me. It could've been yesterday.
I just remember thinking it was an incredibly creative and funny way of getting back at them. I wish I had one. What a great conversation piece that would be!

Here's the flipside to that story:

The reason China had such direct access to all Footoon designs?
He sent them to China.
Thats where they were made.

Footoon contracted a Chinese manufacturer to make "authentic" gear.
He got upset that they sold out his designs.
Welcome to Chinese manufacturing.

I have the V2 and love it... when I saw pix on FT for the next version ( V3?), I looked and looked at it and couldnt figure out how the thing would work... never ordered it.

Good one Asbestos . I have a Aqua V2 clone I picked up on sale locally a couple of years back that I've started using and enjoying lately. A few weeks ago I looked around to see if I could still get another one and found the V3 on sale, and in stock from FT, original release date Jan 31, 2015

Ya gotta love it! Unfortunately the V2 isn't available anymore, but that was good laugh

Fasttech has a 5 pack available, but with a 7 day ship time. The singles are 'temporarily sold out'.

I have a metal tank to fall back on, so have not ordered their plastic set yet. Since I've moved to SS coils and TC I'm liking the metal tanks, but I may just get that set sometime just in case.

Thanks....I have the metal tank too, but it kinds of freaks me out. I don't use temp control and not being able to see my juice level is scary, lol. Those FT ones are acrylic, not PMMA, I don't think they'd last as well. For the price, it might be worth it, for insurance, I guess. Thanks again!

Yeah,i was off a bit,it was back in 2015,like someone else mentioned Ft still has them in stock though haha,they are only $15.23 what a steal haha.
