What chase die would one need to buy, to clean up some of the bad carto threads? Of my last 10 cartos, 4 wouldn't thread properly. This is not really unusual and I work them over with a set of Nicholson files, but it is a pain. I don't want to risk damaging my adapters so won't push a tight thread engagement, but figure it is time to pick up a die. (Since the cartos don't seem to be getting any better.)

somewhere out there......
LOL..... I never had an issue with boge 510 cartos yet but "sometimes" I get issues with Kr 808 threads.

But the E2 is another story, I bought 2 PACKS, a total of 10 E2 510 cartos, only one will work on my precise 16340. The threads are very inconsistent and they smell like paint-thinner except for 2 cartos. Of course the new E2 "v.5" are suppose to be a lot better but still waiting on the word.

I have been watching some of the E2 postings and it looks like they didn't improve the threads, on the latest ceramic offering. Even though they specify they are only for "Joy" 510 series batteries, they could have easily made them universal. Then again, they can't seem to make threads with any kind of consistency as everyone is finding the same issues. (Some fit and some don't.)

Time to pick up a tap and give it a try, as I have 5 packs of the last edition of the E2s, and it takes time to work them with a file.

I don't know if there are enough of the new ceramic versions in use, to really know if they are an improvement. Wicking, glue and threads were all concerns that vapors were counting on areas of improvement. So far, it looks like they haven't done anything with the threads and the jury is out on the other issues. We need to see more reviews.
I have the earlier version and havn't yet had one with the glue smell. At 2 ohms, they do run hot and can easily give you that burned taste. Short hits, or multiple burns in one draw, seem to be the way to go. One second too long and you either have no flavor or burned.

Continual improvement will be the answer, as long as the manufacturer pays attention to the vaping community. Until then, the original cartos are still my favorite.

For everyone with thread issues on your attys or cartos --

The thread chaser is the answer to the crappy workmanship on our cartos from China.

Just a couple of seconds and cartos that wouldn't even begin to work are now smooth as butter. No more risk of damaging the adapters on your mods.

Thanks to David for the sizes.
