After almost 8 months i still think a freshly lit cigarette smells good. I can smell one from a mile around.haha, but i know it would be a mistake for me to do it. So, sometimes when i get the craving real bad i will lite a few matches and then blow it out. I love the smell of the match and the sulfur or whatever is in it, and then the craving passes...or maybe i just want to burn something, either way it works for me..good luck

Passed by a smoker today and was really tempted to bum a smoke or buy a pack. Never thought i would say it but i actually sort of liked the smell. Fortunately i carry a bottle of 36mg for these occasions as i normally smoke 18-24 mg but the lighting a match seems like a really good idea. Time to buy some matches.

I've been smoke free since Feb 22 and I love my vaping.... but lately I've been craving a smoke.

Stick with it Metstoo. Don't know how much room you have to upgrade, but if you haven't tried LR-attys or 5v vaping, those measures might help stave off the demons. Xanax mentioned the idea of an emergency kit... hardware could be part of that kit too.

What I do when I get one of those overpowering cravings ((more like a NEED not a craving)

I have one bottle of juice that is for emergencies only. It's RY4 from myfreedomsmokes. It's the strongest juice I've ever tried and I'm a nut for throat hit but this stuff is just crazy strong. Anyway I vape on that and it kills the craving instantly. I think everyone should have one of those "emergency only" strong liquids. I think that's pretty important.

I think this is a good technique.

I have some a 10ml 36mg Vanilla that I bought to try it. It is ok but not that much flavor so I know if I cut it down to 18mg I would take kinda weak. So I have it as my "Craving Stopper" juice.

I vape 18mg but when I get those nervous fingers and start think that just one analog would take the edge off, I take about 10 huge hits of the 36mg.

Makes my head swim but does wonders for those cravings.

Remember: One cigarette is how you started. One cigarette now is how you will start again.

Instead of upping the nicotine or having a smoke, try snus, orbs, sticks or strips along with your vape.

They will give you a hit of what you get in tobacco without the danger of the smoke.

My husband had a really hard time with ecigs alone and just an occasional snus with his ecig is what he needs to get rid of that urge for tobacco.

Remember - smokeless tobacco has been shown to be as safe as vaping. Just as the government and antis lie about ecigs, they've been lying about smokeless tobacco. So don't believe the lie that smokeless tobacco is just as bad for you as smoking - it really just as GOOD for you as ecigs!

Thanks everyone! I did up my nic content and it seems to be helping.

Xanax - I have some 48mg that I use to mix so I'm gonna hold some back in reserve for these occasions when I may need to bump my nic up to 30 or so! Thanks for the tip.

DonnaDo - I hope Rudy is going to be okay!

julep - I noticed while I was still smoking that lit cigs didn't smell all that bad but the exhaled smoke smelled really nasty! I still like the smell of smokes too, in small doses. (Do NOT like stale smoke smell though.)

I got some grim news this evening so the higher nic is helping. That and I just got two packages of new stuff to try in the mail today! Always a perker!

:)

Kristin, that's the first time I heard that story from you! TB was the guy that got me over to swedish snus when the E Cig wasn't getting me over the hump and I was planning on making the suggestion when I read yours.

I haven't tried those other varieties of smokeless, but I need the "other alkaloids" in tobacco to kill my cigarette cravings. Once I had snus available, I totally lost that cigarette craving. Keep these ST's in the back of your mind as an alternative if you can't get rid of the urges. I do anywhere from two to four portions a day, but I was a two to there pack a day smoker. I'm getting close to nic free liquid at this point.

also if you can't handle the snus..(I couldn't)..you can also try the Java Stonewalls. I preferred them because they were more like sucking on a piece of coffee flavored candy/lozenge rather than feeling like I had a dip pouch in my cheek. Make no mistake though they do have that kick of the "other alkaloids" you're looking for.
