Hello guys,

Just a few thoughts about flavours...
I`ll say it again - I`m a newb here, but since I started vaping I spend a lot of time in the forum as it is like obsession...

I was just reading one of the http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...e-reviews/4291-favorite-flavour-so-far-5.html threads and several others... and I`m now anxious to try the juices that I`m still awaiting..

But still something is on my mind...Just about a week and a half ago I was smoking a pack of Palmal`s a day... and never changed the kind of flavour...

First of all: when I had to smoke anything different I never liked it, it was different than what I`m used to...and my throat would never accept it easily, it would be either to soft or too hard...or too strange LOL

Second of all: If I bought a pack of different kind it would made me cough my lungs the hell out on the next day...

I`m pretty sure most of you were smoking the same old brand of cigarettes and were not even concidering buying a different one than the favourite..

And now what??

About 50 different juices...and when you mix them somehow you get about 50 000 that you never thought you`ll try...

And I`m not really sure what that would be like...

Probably it has nothing in common when e-smoking? Am I right?

I`m glad I ordered some RY4, and different tobacco flavoured juices, but will probably get some more and start mixing them soon LOL :D

P.s. How do you maintain the atomizers and carts so the flavours only mix the way you like it?

I'm starting my flavor trip this weekend. I'm still using the standard nic juice you buy from pretty much anyone, but I'm going to start experimenting with just VG, distilled water, and flavorings. That way, I won't have a ton of money invested in ingredients, I can mix small batches and figure out what I like and what I don't like, and when I settle on some recipes, I'll buy some unflavored nic juice and make the real thing. Or not, maybe I'll not mind having the non-nic version.

As far as what to do with attys and carts, carts are easy. You can clean the plastic parts, and replace the poly-fill batting when you change flavors. If taken very good care of, I'm betting the plastic portions of a cartridge should last a good, long time, and a big bag of polyfill will probably last me a year or more. Plus, blank cartridges are pretty cheap. Some water and Q-Tips to dry as much of the plastic as you can, and of course some air drying time before filling and replacing the batting, and the core cartridge should be good as new.

From what I understand, there are several ways to clean the atomizers, boiling, soaking in lemon juice, etc... Just do a search on the forums here, you'll probably run across the same few threads I've seen on the subject. I need to go back and look soon, as I have a feeling that I'll have to do quite a bit of cleaning as I experiment.

I thought about this too, earlier today while smoking my pineapple mint concoction. As a man, burdened with a big manful pride. I would never in a million years be caught in a bar drinking a Wine Cooler, Daiquiri with whip cream & a cherry on top, or from a straw, so obviously a fruity cig would be out of the question.

Yet, I'm walking around giving off the aroma of a candy factory while vaping.
But most of us have to flavor to either find something closest to what we smoked last, or to constantly make it new, because vaping does not at all mirror the taste of an analog.

I think flavoring plays a very big role, whether someone continues to vape and switch over successfully. Hell, I think I would have quit already had I not gotten a hold of some menthol crystals, since no commercial menthol came close to what I was used to.
I now flavor, because...even my DIY menthol isn't quite the same. So, it makes it fun and new I suppose.

I tried to create the flavor of Djarum Blacks by mixing clove and burnt sugar flavorings. Sadly, this tasted nothing except BURNT! lol

So then I switched out the cart and put in JC's Tennessee Cured hoping I could vape out the taste of the last malfunctioned recipe

I think it was the closest to an analog I've found (by accident)! Tobacco taste from JC but with the "burnt" taste of an analog. Not that I liked it as I smoke menthols...

I'll stick to my chocolate cheesecake and other silly vapes I make up as I go along :)

(next attempt will be clove and cream cheese) lol

I can't speak for everybody. But I do think that most start e-cigs as a way to duplicate their analog addiction, flavor and all.

I got the prefilled carts when I started and when I tried it it just didn't quite do it. Close, I guess, but no cigar-ette. As time went on, I now prefer the sweeter tastes of my diy juices. I just mixed a batch of coffee and it really satisfied me. It sort of has that burnt kind of taste we had grown used to in analogs.

Keep trying different flavors and as time goes on, you'll find your niche.

Good luck.

I see,

And how about the old flavor that is still on the atomizer? Would that affect the new flavor and how can I avoid it...for the carts I know what to do but I cant have like 10 atomizers for each flavor....
It does stay for a little while, depending on the strength in flavor last used. Especially menthol. I switch from red bull to diy blueberry mint, and diy pineapple mint. For a little while, switching from blueberry mint to pineapple mint, it tastes very much like grape kool aid. Then after 2-3 refills, it negligible. I have come across accidental flavors to keep in mind for future flavors this way. Red Bull, pineapple and a dash of blueberry taste much like a Shirley Temple, lol
