Creams taste dusty?

Google searching tells me this isn't a super common problem, or if it is people aren't describing it the same way as I do. But I'm wondering, do creams/custards taste dusty to anyone else? That's the best way I can describe it. I definitely never get any hint of anything dairy, just a vaguely rich, musty/dusty kind of flavor in anything with cream. All devices, all combinations of builds, it's clearly just something about the flavor itself that my nose and mouth misinterpret.

Does this ring a bell with anyone else? And if so, did you ever find any vendors/flavors where the cream or custard actually tasted like cream or custard to you?

Nope. The worst I get is a cheesy or sour milk taste. But that depends on the vendor.
