I just got this tank on Thursday and have been using the stock .25 coil. Last night (Saturday) I got a dry hit. They started cropping up more today and I'm worried since I'm away from home until tomorrow night and forgot to bring an extra coil.

Anyway, I unscrewed the bottom and noticed that the top of the coil and the bottom of the chimney where it connects to and forms a seal were both wet with juice. I dried them off and screwed it back on. Since making sure they were completely dry and forming a proper seal, it's been bubble city in my tank and no dry hits yet. Keeping my fingers crossed, but this might be a possible solution.

I'm vaping max VG in a Sig150 usually running this tank at 80w.

After dry hitting last week and stuck at work without a spare coil, I got frustrated and used a thumb tack to poke holes into the 4 holes on the side of the coil. I pushed the tack all the way through and pulled it back out. Loaded her up, filled the tank, and NO MORE DRY HITS! It isn't flooding either, so far so good and I've been hitting it for several days like this.

Sometimes the hard pull through to prime it just doesn't get it saturated well enough and after a few hits it scortches it if it didn't really get the chance to keep up. And once you scortch it it will taste burn no matter how much juice its wicking. I've had that problem with... Atlantis, herakles, artic, subtank, and the new smok. I always nearly flood the coil head before I screw it in and give it some time to soak in

Ok, I've been wondering why my coils would only last a few days on my X Cube 2 and then I would get dry hits. I tried this method and it really works! Thanks for the info!

I almost want to order another one, but the one I have seems to be built perfectly, I can't find any issues with it at all so I don't think its the tank itself and the coils have come from several different packs so I don't think its bad coils either.
Dont do it! I've bought 3 of them. Same problems with all...

Maybe you need to swap out the coils
Yes, I've cleaned everything, changed the O rings and tried several different coils.[/QUOTE]
On several different mods as well. I think it might be a bad batch of coils? I'm starting to see this pop up more and more on the internet

Never had a dry hit off either of my tanks, both still on stock 0.25ohm coils that they came with, getting on for 3 weeks now..Hitting them at 85w, all day everyday, no problems here.

All I can say, you really have to babysit those coils when they are new, takes hours to break them in with plenty of patience, slowly slowly is key here. It's a different beast from the TFV4, which you can just throw the coil in, few primer pulls, 50w for a few mins and bump it up, the Crown isn't like that but personally it's well worth it, great flavor and all round vape once the coils settle down.

My friend and I have had this same problem with all of the coils from the crown. If I unscrew the top cap and let air into the tank bubbles raise to the surface and then I get two really good hits befor I begin to get dry hits again. I don't think it is the wick being gunked up. I only used the coils for a day and a half befor this happens. This is also the same scenario for my friend.

Its the Vg. Anything over 70 percent vg and eventually youll start to get dry hits...
