If anyone plans on eyeballing this, make your first notch, then make one 180 degrees from that first one. essentially directly across from it. then 90 degrees from that one then 180 from that one. continue this way filling in the gaps as you cut them out. Or you can wrap a tape measure around it and get precise measurements if you want to really take the time.
Wraith504,I think 5mm screws would be ok! I did find a allen wrench to fit mine,but it could be converted over to a Phillips head screw easily. You might have to turn the screw heads down a little on the positive post though,for clearance. A small collet and the dremel would do this fine.@rks1949 We are slow at work today, So this will be my afternoon project. Why I didnt think of this!! Anyone have any thoughts on the grub screws?? Pretty sure they are 4mm length. Wondering if i could get away with 5mm length grubs to replace these
@rks1949 I have a .9mm in the mail. I thought about cutting slots to make them phillip grubs. but I can get like a pack of 100 for about 15 bucks or so. Just figured the extra mm may make them secure wire a little better.
Yeah, I tried some small head Phillips screws, but they were a no go on the positive block unless I made the heads even smaller.
Technically you should be able to fill it with the entire top cap off. I have 3 attys I do that with because they have just a tiny top fill hole, and nowhere to let the displaced air out: Aga t5 and t7, and hcigar HC Plus. I can't get quite as much juice in, but it works much better for me.

It's not rocket science to build on. Wicking can be a pain, but when it's right, wow. I do have to admit though, after spending some time reading the Billow V2 thread, I'm thinking about one of those!

So I took mine apart last night to check the wicks and coils after about 10 days use.... Wicks were torched, was dealing with a bit of a cold/sore throat so I didn't pick up on the burning taste....
Removed the wicks, went to dry burn/clean the coils and they popped after the third pulse.... What was intended as a quick rewick turned into a 30 minute ordeal....
Wasn't in the mood and didn't quite have the time, so I just grabbed my spool of 32g kanthal, cut off two equal pieces, didn't measure, and did two 6 wrap coils around the screw driver the RTA came with.... Started putting one coil on, it fell out and I had to search for it.... Found it, got my cotton ready and ran into trouble getting the right amount....
After finally getting the wicks right, I followed a picture a few pages back about trimming against the curve of the deck, but I did it at less of an angle as in the picture, stuffed everything in the channels, primed the wicks, started putting everything back together, took it apart again to make sure the chimney didn't pull the wicks and then put it all back together.... Top-filled it, followed the method posted here about starting to tighten the top, invert and finish tightening the top.... Had a pretty good leak from the drip tip. Flipped it over, made sure everything was tight, cleaned up the drip tip and no leaks from the air holes.... Put it on the 4nine and no issues....
Checked it again this morning and no leaks from the drip tip, thinking I just didn't get it tightened fast enough last night....
It's definitely a cooler vape than the stock coils, same clouds whether the air flow is mostly closed or fully open and maybe it's still some effects from the cold, but very little flavor compared to the stock coils....
The coils are the same as I've been doing for my rda, sometimes I do 30g, sometimes 32g, and I aim for something between 1.5 and 0.7....
Thinking I need to find a smaller piece to wrap on, I think I like the warmer vape of those stock coils than the ones I've been doing....

@rhm3769 I find the vape is always decently warm no matter what build I have thrown in there. If the ohms are low, I have to up the wattage which makes the vape warmer. If its High well.. even at moderate wattage its a little warm. Even though there is a lot of airfow I still always find the vape warm in this tank.
Maybe I'm still recovering from this cold and just can't feel it right now, but I have to note the stock coils are the first ones I've had break during a dry burn....

Did you dry burn at too high of a wattage? That is typically when I find coils pop. I wrap most of my coils as contact.
Its on a 4nine copper mod, with one of those purple efest 18650 2500mah 35a batteries....
I dry burn by firing until the coils start turning red and let go and repeat a few times until all the gunk is gray.... Both coils popped at the outer posts right where the leg meets the post....
Now that I think about it, maybe it tightened the screws too much considering that contact point is about where they popped....

I've never had a coil pop during dry burning so not sure what happened unless they maybe got pulled on when you removed the old wicks?
I vape mine on a mech also, and one thing I really like about this atty is it gives a warmish, but not hot vape. I hated the Silverplay and original Billow because they were much too hot for me.

I guess I'm not much of a cloud chucking RTA person. So far the Cthulhu is the only atty of this type I've liked
My other dual/tri coil attys are more flavor oriented. I have all 3 Aquas, an Aga t7 and a Gus Estia. I also have duals in my Ubertoot clone and prefer it with duals.
I haven't tried any of the new clearos. The last clearos I've had were some Aerotanks last summer. Once I started rebuilding, I got hooked. That became an addiction of its own.
